I am doing stackable baf rearing method (like trays are postioned in criss cross positon). And an air supply is provedide by placing a rotating fan. Few trays came out well. But in many bottom trays there is moisture buildup. How do set up the proper airflow

Thank you for all the insights and useful sharing.. This is Johnny Ang from Sarawak, Malaysia. I have a small BSF farm and had been feeding my BSF with only chicken manure. The growth rate seem to be very slow. Do you have any suggestions to help improve this?

I certainly hope they don’t use BSFL to reduce human waste in the US. Could you imagine if KFC sold chicken that’s fed bsf that lived on human crap? It may be good for the environment to reduce waste, but for human food it just seems cringy. I’d much rather eat balute.

Sheila is giving plane, corporate answers without any real insights or facts (she hasn't shown a single photo of the insides of Sanargy's processing plant in her presentation) on other hand Moritz is doing great work by spreading knowledge to help people like me understand this from the grassroot.

That's the first time I heard what you say. There are many many huge farms producing BSF without problems. The way I look at it is that the dried food you buy for your fish/poultry is like human eating McDonalds or KFC, processed with lots of fillers/bulking agents whereas BSF larvae is natural. You decide!
@ebereezugwu53463 жыл бұрын
Like seriously I don't think I believe what you are trying to bring up here dear. What is actually the nutritional composition of BSF larvae to be compared to the conventional feed destroying humanity. Am open to proper conversation on this. [email protected] is my 💌.

Dear Satyanarayana , let me assume that you are from India. One of the most tasty fishes is Karimeen. In English I think it's called Etroplus ? Please find out what is it's main feed. I believe fish can digest microorganisms like ecoli bacteria without transferring it to humans.

The flies are picky for breeding conditions (need very bright light or sunlight), when compared to other insects (which typically do best with zero light). The frass should be fed to earthworms to compost it. The larvae are hard for small brown anole lizards to chew, especially compared to mealworms, which the easily gobble up. Since they are flies, keeping them from escaping is an issue to manage. Those are all the downsides I know of, which is mainly just getting the flies to stay in captivity and lay eggs. The larvae part is extremely easy. Don't let that discourage you, I've successfully bred them under artificial LED lights and I think they're the most awesome thing to raise.
