Best band and most involved student section in the conference, if not the nation. Really a great band: seeing them with Ohio SU band at 2017 and 2017 in Indy showed how much better the UW Band really is.

Both bands really have their strengths, the OSU band's patterns and drawing during marching are SO. DAMN. IMPRESSIVE.

As someone born and raised from Wisconsin, this is 100% because every single single student is wasted by halftime so they’re ready for this song and jump around 😂

I’m pretty sure that’s Michael Leckrone. He’s been the band director for the marching band for I think 50 years. He’s the guy who created the footing for college marching bands throughout the United States. He’s actually a really enthusiastic person who is incredibly passionate about his work. He would perform in acrobatic displays for his concerts even in his 80s. He’s a strict man who punishes people for slight mistakes in their performances but he did it out of respect and love for his band. Mike left a legacy in the college marching band world forever. From 1969 to 2019 he proudly displayed his best. My sister was in the marching band during her college years, I can tell she had a blast playing her trumpet on the football field and drinking beer with her band mates and she’s still friends with some of them to this day.
