You aren’t supposed to dive on a team of 4 people, pop up, shoot them with your bolt pistol, and maybe throw a Melta Bomb or Krak Grenade. Only dive if there is one of them or they are trying to melee you (jump and dive quickly to catch up with the damage they did)

Pinned means you hit a wall after charging into him. Think of a pin. They stick into walls. That is literally what the expression to "pin" something means. To hold it down against a solid surface.
