Popping bubble algae doesn't release spores. Floating fragments can reattach, but that tends to be a lesser problem.
@Brennen_Nisporic21 күн бұрын
I had a similar problem in my frag tank. Took out and dipped as many corals as I could, that helped to knock off the little buggers. Followed that up by treating whole system with flatworm exit and siphoning out as many as I could find. Lastly a couple wrasses were added to help finish them off. It’s been about a week and I haven’t seen any more flatworms 👍

Hi Ania, great looking tank!! Can you provide you parameters, as my toadstools only are sulking, but the rest of my corals are fine and I’ve tried different flows/lighting. Do you think the iodine is a big factor in keeping soft corals happy?
@GalleryAquaticaTVАй бұрын
Definitely important for softies! And Nickel too. But Iodine is the key. I don’t check my params b very often to be honest. But I keep my alkalinity 8.5-10.5 because I’m really particular about having a high pH (8.3) and the Seachem Marine buffer I use with my RODI top ups also increases KH.
@hoofhearted1102Ай бұрын
@GalleryAquaticaTV thank you for taking the time to reply, it's really appreciated 👍 do you worry about overdosing iodine and test regularly, as I can imagine if levels increase it could be detrimental to the tank or does say 1ml every day or two, quickly gets absorbed in the tank?

The viewers watching this video & commenting on what a wonderful job you are doing are learning the wrong way to do a water change so google people. It's not hard to do research. Not all information is posted by KZbinrs with perfect knowledge. 1) It is against the law to pour saltwater aquarium waste into the street or any natural body of water. In fact, *** it is illegal to dump any aquarium water, whether it is saltwater or freshwater, into a natural body of water or down the toilet. 2) You can use real ocean water to perform a water change in a reef tank, provided you collect it from a clean, unpolluted area and properly test it before adding it to your aquarium; *** however, most reef keepers prefer to mix their own saltwater using a high-quality marine salt mix with RO/DI water to ensure consistent parameters and avoid potential contaminants present in wild ocean water. 3) It is generally not safe to allow your water change to flush all the sand around your coral, as this can significantly disturb the coral's base and potentially damage it; it's best to carefully siphon the sand bed during a water change to remove excess debris while ***minimizing disruption to the coral and its surrounding environment.

@GalleryAquaticaTV - Cam, love your work mate! Could you please recommend a cheaper alternative for the aqua medic 3.1 power head? It’s about $300…almost the cost of the tank 😮

Great tank, but that return pump is the first thing you will need to replace. After a couple weeks it will be extremely noisy. Guess you really can't complain for the price of the unit though.

Can you keep one in a bio cube 32 gallon with two clown fish, one royal gramma, 4 blue leg hermits and 3 snails?

Can I mix my ocellaris clown pair with my gladiator clown fish? Two separate tanks but want to shut one down
@GalleryAquaticaTVАй бұрын
Hey! Sorry we missed this 2 months ago. What species is a Gladiator Clownfish? We don’t have those in Australia. As a general rule, only Ocellaris will mix with Ocellaris. In small tanks the issue can also be if you are trying to add two dominant females together. Typically it will always work out if it’s same species and there is only one large (female) one and the rest are smaller (males).

Great video Cam! I’m just about to pick up this tank (first foray into this with my 8 year old daughter). A couple questions, since you seem to be well versed in all things aquatic! 1) I am starting with just fish, but will likely want to add reefs down the road…do you think the NICREW hyper reef aquarium 50 watt led light is sufficient? I was recommended to get the light shown in the video because it’s operable on an app and has more versatility in the spectrum Of blue lighting. Any thoughts? 2) I was suggested to get 2 clown fish, 3-4 blue green chromus and possibly a damsel (the damsel fish added last). Do you think that’s too many for this size tank? 3) For this size tank, how many snails, or shrimp? Many thanks in advance for your help! Your channel is super helpful and informative!!! From Julie in Toronto
