I faced this choice 16 years ago... I bought metalzone then, and the jackhammer seemed too light... And now I understand that at that time I simply had not grown up to it, but in general, the sand of metalzone taught me to hear it well and get rid of it in all subsequent devices, correctly forming the sound...Jackhammer, as I now understand, is just smooth and clean, correct. If you take death-metal or core, then again the jackhammer will win. It can be heated with a screamer for density, and the metalzone will be lost in the sand
@DonnieDistortion3 күн бұрын
I eventually let the Jackhammer go, found it too dark for my taste and not as versatile as the Metal Zone.

Wow ! Krist Novoselic has been my favorite bass player for over 20 years, he's been the biggest influence on me, and here you are playing exactly like him with the same bass guitar (I'm jealous of your bass guitar). In any case, bravo! It's great fun to listen to !

You can really hear the germanium saggy tone of the Distorton plus, it makes it sound fuller and bigger, but the other two cut through more

Never understood why people compare them to Nirvana. Sorry not sorry Silverchair is A MILLION times better. They made better shit than Nirvana did at 15 years old, and their music progressed so much over the years, they made so many different sounding albums, all fresh, non sounded the same. They are far far far above nirvana in every way
@DonnieDistortion25 күн бұрын
Probably because Nirvana were so popular, they became some sort of benchmark for bands coming up in the following years. Many people can't help it, they have to compare everything and everyone instead of enjoying an artist for what they do.

You're trolling us, every pedal sound the samedi !!! But i own those and i Can Say it's not the same
@DonnieDistortionАй бұрын
Haha! No trolling here, using these pedals as boosts only do make them sound very similar. If you use these pedals through a clean channel then indeed, they won't sound the same.

Hi Donnie. I really enjoy watching the pedal evaluation videos you make. I particularly like the sound of MXR pedals. Recently, MXR has launched the Yngwie Malmsteen Overdrive Pedal. Looking forward to you making a video about this pedal. Thank you very much!

Woah I have the Hagstrom Super Swede and love it, I’ve never seen this model you have, metropolis c, now I’ll be picking up the DSL and looking for that guitar! That’s sick as fuck!
@DonnieDistortionАй бұрын
The Metropolis series (-C with humbuckers, -S with single coils) was produced from 2013 to 2015 (or 16, not sure anymore). Smaller body, very lightweight with slightly "percussive" sounding pickups, love it. In my humble opinion, that was Hagstrom's take on the Les Paul Junior. The 15 watts DSL has been out of production for years but look for the DSL 20. The overdrive channel sounds much better, less aggressive, more balanced. Might even get one myself eventually! Cheers!
@Gma77882 ай бұрын
You failed to mention the adjustment feature is so you can match the phases in with the beats of the song. You've got to apply what you've learned and fit it in with the recording. You might find that you should have bought a 45 phase or the doubling phase pedal instead. You'll quickly realise YOU MUST BUY the whole series of pedals. You also MUST BUY multiple quantities of the whole series of phase shifting pedals. You must buy the whole set of spanners 🔧 and another set of screwdrivers 🪛 🙄 🤔 You can't just buy 1 screwdriver. So, STOP ✋️ what you're doing. Ask yourself are you REALLY committed to this brand OR are you just being a FOOL cause you've effectively just bought 1 screwdriver 🪛 out of a toolbox 🧰 of tools.

"You failed to mention the adjustment feature is so you can match the phases in with the beats of the song." Nope. This *might* be relevant in very specific cases but not for my use. "You might find that you should have bought a 45 phase or the doubling phase pedal instead." No, because I got the Phase 90 for free. "Ask yourself are you REALLY committed to this brand OR are you just being a FOOL cause you've effectively just bought 1 screwdriver 🪛 out of a toolbox 🧰 of tools." Why would a musician commit to a specific brand? Buy the gear you want regardless of the brand and that's it.
