Beautiful! I had previously believed that the piece could sound good only with strings. Happy to be wrong!

Great range of colors, and control of nuance - and I'm *loving* that baritone sound (though I'll never know how someone can sound like that on a square-chamber mouthpiece). I just heard their professor play this piece over the weekend. :)

The moments of tenderness he was able to produce were so effortless and naturally beautiful - and with a penetrating, incredible projection devoid of ambiguity or unpleasant ‘spread’. Nothing less a shimmering golden arrow that went straight to the heart. These were qualities that none of us could ever emulate. I miss you, Dr. Fred Hemke. I’m so grateful to have been your student.

This singlehandedly changed my opinion of the saxophone. In a good way.

I was familiar with the original vocal version of this piece, but this arrangement is beautiful-and mesmerizing.

I absolutely love this piece!!! I first heard it when FSU’s sax ensemble played it at their prism performance last winter and it’s so unbelievably unique and fun It’s one of the few pieces I will just look up to hear again and again, there’s nothing like it for a sax choir. Amazing performance, 10/10!

..and he has the beautiful tone to back it up. Just listen. Heard him at Arkansas Tech Band Camp in the 60s. He played the Bozza Aria. Left a lasting impression on me

What sweetly spectacular music....

This is so visually appealing. Bright and yet mostly black. Players standing still and focused while moving hypnotically. Magical ending, like a miracle, that all of a sudden, there's nothing left happening. Window on the city or lake or whatever ... in the darkness, with little cosmic points of light. Bright illumination and wooden frame. Saxophones, such a human-scale instrument. Wow.
