Picture yourself at a 90s cocktail party at a Soho loft or a Hollywood hills poolside with a view over the city. Fashionable people, famous people, intellectuals and eccentrics. And yes, not a phone in sight. Unless your agent is calling you about a gig in Japan.

Too bad this wasn’t included on the original album. Duke plays some wicked piano on this tune.

I'd forgotten this song. I got a LinkedIn email from someone named "Prafulla." Thought to myself "isn't that a musician, or a dj?" I remembered the CD cover said "Praful." As soon as I saw "Sigh" I remembered that I liked this song!!

Rocky Balboa: Hey, your old man did pretty good tonight. Why weren't you there, huh? You should've seen me. You guys hungry? Huh? Here you go. Here you go. You wanna see your friend Moby dick, huh? How're you doin', Moby dick? You missed me today or what? Huh? Huh? Here you go. Say hi. You know, if you guys could sing or dance, I wouldn't be doin' this, you know. And, uh, last turtle food I got here. That's, uh... last turtle food I got here. It had more flies in it... more moths and flies. More flies... more moths... who the hell cares?

Anyone wants to know what’s wrong with recording studio engineers today…put on headphones, play any country song made in the last 20 years and then do the same thing with this.

The is the first recording of Caravan I remember hearing, and still my favorite rendition. He really captivates the feeling of the motion of the caravan through the desert. The camels and horses, sheep and carts churning away slowly as the chatter of the people along the journey peaks with anticipation as the drums ride in double time while the slowly ever moving rhythm tune of the caravan rolls on through the desert. So amazing!

I forget sometimes how great this stuff is. I just listened to every arrangement I could find of this comp. It's mesmerizing, hypnotizing... you simply CAN'T help but get sucked into it. It just seizes your brain and says "OK, you're coming on a little ride with me, pal."

If you want to hear the "rock interpretation" of this song, try out "Sails of Cheron" by Scorpions. (Yes, those Scorpions of 80's hair band fame.) I had been listening to the opening solos in "Sails" for decades thinking that it was one of the most brilliant and original works of electric guitar ever. (It is a masterpiece.) Then one day while watching a random Rick Beato video, he hears "Sails" and immediately identifies this song Caravan as the major influence. I was like Really?, so I listened to this. Yes, really...except it's more like a glaring influence. Duke was a genius and Uli Jon Roth was brilliant to pull from his catalog.

Those gigantic wall-like chords on the main theme are just ridiculous. The whole thing is genius beyond comprehension.
