This was really helpful Gary, thanks! We had one only that hatched die in the nestbox after a hot day here in northern NSW - even though the box was shaded - 😞 and I was very concerned that the maggots had something to do with that (there were so many, it was buried under a layer of them) - but I think this shows the maggots are a normal part of the bedding material. We are going to make the box thicker putting more wood around the outside with a gap between the layers. Also I'll make sure I get wooden steps attached (there weren't any) and get proper wood shavings.

Good job dear,, i have 1 serious question,,, i have rosella pairs,,, but some killed their chicks,, some dont feed them well thats why chicks will dead,,,and some plucked chicks,,,, i noticed you install light in box,,,, and i think if i also install light in nest box may be breeding result will improve,,,please answer me must,,, i have a room setup for rosella,,,,, there are no sunny light,,,only Led lights i install in room,,,,

Thankyou for doing this, we put up a nesting box early in the year, we now have a pair nesting in it, this video grately helps us understand movements and what's happening in nest.

Were they able to fly straight way after fledging? I have rosellas in a new nestbox in backyard with a camera just like this and am worried if chicks can't fly when they fledge the dog might get them.

Thanks for this video! We’ve attracted a couple of eastern rosellas to our backyard with a seed block. Hopefully we can still get a couple nesting this season if we put up a box now.
