Love it. How did you make the animation or what program did you use?
@shippy555

The guy who played the synths also did the animation, not sure what computer or program he had or used. I assume whatever was about in 1990. If I can contact him, I'll get back to you. My part in this track was the isolating the vocals (via out of phase recording) and the studio engineering etc. Thanks for your interest and comment.

Well I think it’s wonderful. Every Saturday night we used to watch the Black and White Minstrel Show which went for an hour. I would have been about ten and loved the show. They were so good and entertaining the music was jolly, their voices lovely and the dancing was happy. It was never intended as racist it’s only the idiots of today who go looking to find something to complain about in every corner who have problems. They are the ones who are only happy when they can find fault. Sad little people.

What you get when small dick energy is institutionalized! Well, the 50’s were different times, I get that but even back then there were folk completely disgusted by such abject and abhorrent discrimination. Thankfully, that kind of offense to humanity is many bridges to far for most people today. Thank you Dr. Martin Luther King!

In the 1930's they used multiple microphones and mixing console, to pickup the music, to get the singer and the room reverberating seperately. German Grammophon called this Poyfar.

@@susanhughs1031 Hi Susan, I am sorry if I appeared rude as I now guess your first language is not english. I had just pointed out that spelling women with an 'E' is plural, meaning MORE than 1. You were talking about 1 person so it's the same word but with an 'A' (woman) 1 woman (Patty Colwell). If you were talking about 2 or many ....it would be "women" which IS the word you did put, hence me correcting you. No big deal, just 1 letter difference'A' or'E'. Hope this explained. I have had a nice cold drink thanks. Hope you're ok. Take care.

I remember in the 80's there used to be some kind of BMX track and an open air swimming pool, I remember cycling there from Bradford on Avon, I must of been about 7 or 8, it's sounds totally insane now to just get on your bike at that age and do what you want with no one knowing where you are but thats how it was lol, ebvery day was a massive outdoor adventure!
@marksmithwas12
@marksmithwas12 Жыл бұрын
I don't know if it's the same one, but there is a BMX track on the same road as St. Augustines. The open air swimming pool you're thinking of may be either the one at Clarendon Academy (it's unused now, completely neglected and full of weeds) or it might have been where a building now lies (possibly where Tesco Extra is?)

@@shippy555 Wow small world... I visited your studio probably in 1985 with an (at the time) friend Richard Willink - But he later ripped me off and probably did you too (though RIP). I heard a CD being played for the first time in your house which blew me away, and ultimatel;y you inspired me to sound proof my first studio with egg boxes lol - God they're a nightmare to make good the walls afterwards huh? Nice to have met you - I've now moved to Hampshire and am revisiting music again after a 20 year break. All the best.

@@J4Z666 Hi again Jase, I remember Richard coming with a few "friends" at different times and I remember one friend recording a song called something like "American Dream" but thought his name was Ben something!! Was that you? I'm sure not. Is your full name Jason? You may not want to tell me as these comment sections aren't private, of course. Yes, I have had a few dodgy non-paying times with Richard, but generally, he was fine. He once paid me (as he was skint.....again!) with a nice ,old, expensive looking violin! Turned out to be a very rare violin that was worth a fortune! (not quite a Stradivarius) that belonged to his mum! She's had it since she was a child. I had to give it back after his brother came to see me and he paid for Richard's tab! You said RIP, has Richard died? I didn't know, if he has, what did he die of and how long ago? I don't remember the cd playing experience, I know I had bought a cd player when they were fairly new and very expensive. I paid £250 for my first one, probably more like £600 in today's value. I was upstairs for the first 2 thirds of 1985 and had a studio built on land downstairs which was ready by about September that year. I'm assuming you probably went upstairs ( because you mention the egg boxes. as I didn't use them again downstairs)? Sorry, all these questions!! I'm sure it was good to have met you, I don't ever remember Richard turning up with anyone I didn't like! Good Luck with your revisiting music again, which I can only assume is computer based? I still have a bit of a set-up which is based around a Yamaha AW4416 (DAW).I bought it in 2001 for £3000 and recently bought a second (back up) for £250, which is around the going rate on ebay! Lovely machine though. As I said, good luck, and you take care too.

@@shippy555 Nice to chat with you Shippy - I do remember your name btw just being respectful of your privacy. Yes I'm Jason, the studio was upstairs and I didn't record anything I was young then and had only just caught the music bug, recording in my bedroom with an Amiga 500, midi interface and a couple of synths (This grew in to something much bigger by the time I left parental home 10 years later). Richard passed about 20 years ago (I think) but I'm going to see my folks at the weekend and I'll ask them when as I have a seriously volatile memory, I'll update you later on that one and how. Yes I'm recording on PC / Cubase Pro with only a few outboard toys - not got the room anymore - life and kids got in the way. I’ve been working on an album for about 6 months but it’s a big learning curve using latest Cubase and software instruments, effects and stuff, the one thing I really love is I save my project and everything is saved and can be recalled without having to find the settings on all of my synths and mixer channels no matter what I was working on last. Got no idea what I’m doing with the album when it’s done yet but it’s fun getting there. Just looked up the Yamaha - they look neat, bit smaller than a full size analogue mixer and must be bliss recording to disk, can you arrange and sequence on that thing? If only I had one of them 20 years ago, equally if only I had Cubase 12 20 years ago. Have you produced your own music or just sound engineer to others? Never really got to know if you were / are a musician / producer that took the opportunity to sell the studio time to others as well or were purely in to the recording. - All the best J

Really? I've got an official Radio One bloopers tape (presented by Adian Juste) where Fluff is (jokingly) asking him not to include any of the outtakes featured here! Of course, he does, and the swear words are bleeped out. Also DLT and Noel Edmonds are heard here too, is the same guy talented enough to imitate them too? There is also a "Story of Rock" outtakes tape also narrated by Fluff and presented (the outtakes tape) by Keith Skues. Lots of similar swearing comments on that tape too. Maybe the same guy does Keith Skues too!
