I used to enjoy riding in this when I was in college at ArtCenter. That was back in the late 80's and early 90's. I met and rode with some good riders there; including the US National Team, who were in town for another race at the time.

The Rose Bowl path is good for doing your interval training. What I suggest is that you take it moderately easy going up, and then when you approach the corner on the descent give it all you got(85 to 90percent) till you start ascending again. Do this ten times. If you are not breaking a sweat after the first interval then you are not pushing hard enough. Good luck.

I noticed the other day while doing the bike path it was a lot easier done when drafting off other people. But the best workout on the Rose Bowl bike path is to go at it alone with no benefit of draft. I'll consider group rides around the Rose Bowl moderately easy in comparison to solo rides.
