Thank you for this Gina. I was diagnosed with stage 4 leiomyosarcoma (a very rare, aggressive cancer) on my 64th birthday in 2016. We had lost so many friends to cancer who had done exactly what their docs said. I wanted something different and after much research, told my oncologist my first visit after diagnosis. He stood up, told me "I can't help you with that, no doctor can" and walked out. He was/is a much loved doctor. I felt, just lost I guess. But I had worked out what living meant to me and I decided to follow my gut and I found different doctors. I have the greatest team ever and they work with me and my body. I have always had trouble with medications and they support my decisions and help me find alternatives. It may have something to do with the fact that I'm still alive in the group diagnosed with same cancer in same time period. The thing is, as you said, we have to look at the issue and where we are and what we want. If we can't start with that, it's ok.....start with what you don't want and go from there. Main thing start your day with intention, go from there, FOLLOW YOUR GUT and remember to breathe........
