I remember watching Sergio Garcia grip and regrip let's go conservative and say 12 times (more like 15) for an iron shot way back when. I dont know if he was always like that or still is but it was part of his set up for a bit haha! Not good for that Hit-Box timer on each shot that's for sure!

Best tips for sure! Feeling that adrenaline off the 1st tee and flying down the 1st fairway generally ends in disaster if you haven't trained. Slow but steady until your a mile in or so is best. I know better and I still have several rounds where I huffed and puffed way too hard before the back 9. Just brutal! 100% play for shorter rather than longer. Criss crossing greens can be frustrating for extra strokes AND 20-30 seconds! And most definitely sign up in 2025. I can't wait for this next season! Speedgolf tournaments are as casual or competitive as YOU personally want to make it. Our community is great for that, and the depth of competition at the top male/female/masters is incredible!

In speedgolf you aren't required to spend 3 minutes looking for your ball. If you believe it's lost you can just drop and keep playing.

For Team USA, there was a qualifying process, detailed in this podcast: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oIiafmqsfciMbZI&ab_channel=SpeedgolfBaby We earned points based on performance in the 3 official tournaments (Missouri, US Open, Kentucky). Top 4 men, top 2 women, top 2 seniors qualified automatically. Scott made Captain's picks to round out the squad. Not sure what the process was in other countries.

I've been watching a lot of these speedgolf videos lately and I feel that leaving the putter at home is not worth whatever few seconds the "putterless" think they are saving themselves. Every additional putt adds a minute to your score and it is much easier to two putt with a putter than it is to run even faster to make up the minute you essentially lost.

Great point, David. I tend to agree with you. This particular round was one of the all time great wedge putting rounds and STILL one could make the argument Rob lost 3.5 strokes compared to a standard putter
