We applied for study visa on 26 oct. 2024 for May 25 intake SAIT college,, biometrics was done on 30 oct.,, the study program taken at the time of application was PGWP eligible,, but now in the new rules the same program is PGWP not eligible,, now this is confusion,, We will get Work Permit or not❓or go for change course❓

Hi, I want to know that last year I had completed 1 year program in another college and after that i got admission in another college Does I need to change my DLI or Not because unfortunately I didn't change or give update to ircc but now i'm worried about that and I want to apply for my study permit extension does it effect in pgwp.

As of November 8, 2024, international students in Canada can no longer change their Designated Learning Institution (DLI) through their online account. Instead, they must apply for a new study permit to change DLIs. Here are the steps to change your DLI: Get a Letter of Acceptance (LOA): Secure admission to the new DLI and get an LOA. Apply for a new study permit: Apply to extend your current study permit. Wait for approval: Wait for your new study permit to be approved before starting at the new DLI. Notify IRCC: Notify IRCC directly or through BorderPass.

Brother, I come to canada in July 2023 in university with 4 year of stamp on passport and dropped the corse after 6 months and from January 2024 I started my new course in new college and change the DLI number and not applied for study permit because I was having stamp of 4 year completed that course on August and from this January 2025 my new 1 year course is starting from the same college so I need to change dli and want apply for my study permit because when I completed my first course I updated my dli number and now I am studying in same college with new course. There's no way to check that. However, you have your portal login you can check the activity over there. Or you can contact service Canada for the confirmation.

Hi, I am finishing my current course this 2nd week in December. I am transferring to another school this January because my current school is closing and that it discontinued my 2nd course, which is in the conditions noted if we can start even if we are waiting on the study permit. I received my LOA last September and applied my extension this Nov 30.

You can start but till you get the decision. But if it isn't approved then you either have to leave the country or need to reapply.

I BELIEVE THIS IS OUTDATED. THE RULES HAVE CHANGED ON NOVEMBER 8TH, 2024 AND YOU CAN NO LONGER CHANGE THE DLI ONLINE. If you wish to change colleges, the student needs to apply for a fresh new study permit with a letter of explanation as to why did you change the college. Please review the eligibility as it is much stricter now. PLEASE UPDATE YOURSELF MR VLOGGER 63

Hello. I got LoA for a new school in the same province starting Jan 2025. I have not been able to change my DLI as the option has been removed from the gckey page. @abiodun-lawalolamide5046 in case if you have completed your previous course/college then you don't need to reapply if you haven't finished it and you changed the DLI after November 1st then you have to reapply the permit. And it'll take some time to make a video. I would suggest you to call or visit service Canada so that you can start your application ASAP
