I have a Smith and Wesson SW9VE that I bought at a local shooting range/gun shop for $149. I like it and that same shop had a hand made in the waistband holster, made in Kemah, Texas; that I use for concealed and home defense.

The issue of how to carry firearms-whether concealed or openly-is a topic of ongoing debate, particularly in states where both methods are legal, such as Nevada. I firmly believe that concealed carrying can make individuals more vulnerable, positioning them as potential targets rather than as defenders. This perspective stems from the inherent nature of concealed carry: it requires individuals to remain inconspicuous, often leading to a false sense of security. One significant drawback of concealed carrying is that individuals are often not perceived as threats. They blend into everyday life, which can lead aggressors to view them as easy targets. In a situation where a threat arises, a concealed carrier must wait for that threat to materialize, often within a dangerously close range, before they can take action. This delay can have dire consequences, as the time it takes to unholster and respond can be the difference between safety and harm. Moreover, a culture of judgment exists among some concealed carriers toward those who choose to open carry. This judgment often arises from fear-fear of public perception, fear of confrontation, and fear instilled by instructors who discourage open carry. It seems that many concealed carriers lack the confidence to open carry, leading them to criticize those who do. This mentality is counterproductive and undermines the shared goal of advocating for gun rights. As someone who open carries daily and resorts to concealed carry only in specific situations, like casinos, I have firsthand experience with both methods. Living in Nevada, where open carry has been legal since 1864 and is a common practice among locals, I have frequently encountered people-often newcomers from places like California-who are eager to learn about local gun laws. Open carriers serve as advocates for the Second Amendment, actively engaging in conversations about rights, responsibilities, and the legal nuances surrounding firearm ownership. In contrast, concealed carriers are less visible and often miss the opportunity to educate others about their rights. It's important to recognize that the rights of concealed carriers are often supported and protected by the efforts of open carriers. The visibility and advocacy of open carriers help foster an environment where all individuals can carry firearms legally and responsibly. If it weren't for those who openly advocate for gun rights, the landscape of concealed carry might look very different today. In summary, while concealed carrying may seem like a safer approach, it can paradoxically render individuals more vulnerable and less prepared to defend themselves. The fear of judgment and the stigma surrounding open carry can create a divide within the gun-carrying community that ultimately weakens the collective advocacy for Second Amendment rights. It is crucial for all carriers-whether concealed or open-to engage in constructive dialogue, support each other’s choices, and recognize the importance of visibility in promoting responsible gun ownership.

Impossible to read serial numbers withouth remove grips ! Looool. (I have not small hands. Just personal preference for thin grips ) personally 357 /38 or 22lr i use only smallest grips even with 6". What's your stance on making it harder to obtain guns, ie with more detailed background checks? Do you feel it would be effective? Don't know what my opinion is, and you seem knowledgeable. Also totally agree open carry makes you a target.
@lefleurarms11 ай бұрын
Hard one to answer, the problem with guns is not everyday people like you and me. The problem is keeping it out of the hands of criminals. I've seen studies that show that in places where open carry is legal, gun violence decreased. And also if we are as a society going to have guns as part of our right, we should probably have some good training out there too. We have to test to get a drivers license, why not for gun purchase? Thanks for asking
@Internet-Antics11 ай бұрын
If you want it to reach, you could (next time? Lol no, this is clearly a 1x thing, but anyway) maybe loosen the screw/bolts/nuts, as usually there is a little extra clearance in the through holes they punch, allowing you to just shift the finned shiny metal piece over, so it can reach. Maybe not, idk the details, but an idea. Regardless bending worked, so power to you!

I worked at a smoke house in my local town and we used a 50/50 blend apple juice apple cider vinegar and a 50/50 sea salt and cracked black pepper corns put it in the smoker at 225F for about 10-12 hours then wrapped it in smoker paper for another 4 hours. Fork tender every time

It doesn’t need anything. The same clips have held convertible tops on cars for years. Take the hook all the way out and add another nut as a jam nut. Tighten accordingly. Not that hard guys. No hammers or bending required. C’mon now….
