Guys I change oil in generator after 24 hours run time. I don't know and ruined the first one. Run for 4 hrs am and 4 hrs every 12 hrs . Plan as much it that time. This was my experience after hurricane damage and no power for 4 weeks. In the middle of 4 hrs get out drinks and food for the day. Shower etc. Refrigerator and freezer will be cold. Cold showers. Grill outside with propane or wood . Etc

@@stephenamatosr9089 yes...changing the oil in a brand new generator after the first run is crucial to eliminate metallic shards left from manufacturing. Thanks for the reminder. I have to do that myself.

Great advice. Thanks!!! This one was borrowed so hopefully they did that. I will let them know they need to before they run it again.

Jeremy & Cass...this is Jess' friend from NY. Living here in the frigid North, the 1st thing Father impressed on me was a secure power source. Losing power for days here in winter can be a life-threatening situation. Also, as a single 62 y/o SSDI recipient, purchasing a whole house generator is out of the question. But as a former hydroelectric plant operator and former physical plant stock procurer for our SUNY hospital, I know how to research the best and most cost effective solutions for mechanical problems. I wrote & posted on Friends of Roots and Refuge what I did to secure power here in my 140 y/o suburbia home, with built-in redundancy using a dual fuel generator AND some solar power stations. I actually schooled my electrician on the inexpensive interlock, as most people think an expensive transfer station is the only way to turn a portable generator into a whole house power source. Not so. If you'd like to learn more about my power solutions, let me know and I'll share everything I've done on a shoestring here. Blessings.

Such a beautiful pot! Found your video when searching for info about a stove top pot of beans that stays out for a week at a time. Never heard of it until reading a social post today. I guess it's pretty common depending on one's culture. Glad to have found your method too. I'll try it with my cast iron dutch oven.

The reason we store jars without the ring is that it is easier to see if the seal has been compromised. Also, if you stack them, be sure to put a piece of cardboard between the stacks. The card board spreads the weight of the jars helping to keep the seals from being compromised.

I’ve got ur normal mutt heritage turkeys, one thing is the hens will run off to nest out in the bush. And will disappear for a few weeks. Where they either get eaten or come back with a bunch of poults. They’re nests are pretty difficult to find if you have a lot of brush. They’ll hop over any solid fencing, but seem not to understand that they can jump wire or mesh fencing. They scale 5 foot fences even with their wings clipped but usually return every night if they aren’t nesting.

You got my mouth watering for that jam!🤭😂 Where did you find cinnamon basil. I only grow the basil that smell and taste like what I call “Crab Boil”. I am from Louisiana and we live on boiled seafood with all my family being fishermen on the bayou and on the bayou we don’t use basil nor grow it but I went to a nursery a couple years ago and passed by a plant and I picked up on a smell I’m like what is that I smell crab boil 😂 well lo and behold it was a basil plant and I was shocked I had no idea there was such a thing so I been growing it ever since.😂 But NOW I had no idea there was a cinnamon one so now I need that too…question…DOES IT TASTE LIKE IT??🤔 If it does please and thank you tell me where I can purchase this plant or seeds? What is a supper club that sounds so fun? We moved to Mississippi since my son is 2 and he’s 8 now and we don’t have friends so it sounds like something about people coming together to eat and being from the bayou I love to cook and feed people 😊…I may be wrong on that assumption but can you share that experience of what that is about?😊 Sorry Please Forgive me for stepping over the line to ask such a question I am not trying to be nosy by no means I am just new to hearing about this type of thing and it’s very intriguing. When God moved me here from Louisiana it’s been hard being stripped of all we knew including our church and friends but when you walk in obedience it’s worth the sacrifice and the reward will be great.😊 Either way in Louisiana on the bayou that’s not something you hear about it’s just ways of the Native American land and so you had my attention.😊 Thanks in advance…God Bless

Great questions and I’ll try to answer as precise as possible. Basil - there are SO many different types but you will only find most of them in seed form. Our go to is Baker Creek (www.rareseeds.com/?campaign_name=%7Bcampaignname%7D&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAAD-y-J9Sp7FYVlh2esb_i8M_YVgEk&gclid=CjwKCAjwreW2BhBhEiwAavLwfIWSiWvR02cLx81WgyJTCdKfNmW6ipBbAh0j3Q633_TxGao8hies9xoCaTEQAvD_BwE) The cinnamon only has a slight hint of cinnamon scent to it and it is a slightly sweet Basil with a little kick. A supper club is exactly what you are imagining. A group of people who get together over dinner. Usually you rotate through the group as to who host and the host family makes the main dish while the others bring apps, sides and dessert. It’s a great way to build community! Lastly - very jealous of your diet. I could live on fresh sea food but we don’t get that luxury. Hope this helps and ENJOY!

Been raising goats for nearly 10 years and I can confirm, if you take time to spend with them as babies, you can have them just as friendly as bottle feeders. Getting them hooked on Snackage and treats they can go from "gone" to "IRS in your pockets" in as little as a week, for some it took me a year to tame like a set of twins who came with their mother. Even then they don't want me toughing horns but once you have them, they stand for handling which is important. Pumpkin peels and guts are among my goats faves. My little pumpkin heads!

Praise God for the healing, the wisdom, the peace and the leading for Selah! And thank Him for placing ALL the right people to effect it, from Jess to this therapist. I thought about champion golfer Stacey Lewis who went through all the surgery and the pain for severe scoliosis while being both an All-American at the University of Arkansas before becoming one of the top golfers on the LPGA during the early part of the 2000's. I can't imagine the pain, especially compounded by athletic or dancing rigors. And thank God that He gave her such wise and discerning parents who seek Him first. Will continue to join you in prayer for a complete and total restoration and a return to everything He created her to be. Blessings, Cass❤

This is Mark and Pam. It was so fun to spend time talking with you and Casandra at the farmers maker. We got a real kick about you referencing our conversation. It will be interesting to see what you end up with in your orchard. One of the trees that I think would fun is the Paw Paw tree. I think you may need a pair to get fruit. Will can probably help. Also Ann of all trades (in Tennessee) was able to get her’s to fruit.

Thank y’all for stopping by and talking. It’s always good to see viewers’ faces! We actually have two Paw Paws just not in the orchard. They like to be in low lying areas so ours are in the backyard where all the rain water runs through. We had our first fruit form this year but I think a chicken or dog got a little too curious with it and it disappeared.

I just learned that water boils at lower temps at higher elevations. So my local extension said to boil water check the temp with a candy thermometer then add 8 degrees...that temp is what I should be looking for in order to gel appropriately. For me water boiled at 195F, add 8 degrees, so now I'm looking for 203 degrees rather than 220. Previous to this I tried to make the peach peel jelly and couldn't for the life of me get the temp up to 220...now I know why.
