No one in the comments noticed that the American was able to use his left hand under the side of the table, giving him MAJOR unfair advantage. He would not have stood a chance if the sides were symmetrical, the Japanese dude was strong af holding that long with one hand only against the American pressing with two hands (one against the opponent, one under the edge of the table)

Don’t worry guys his story didn't end here. This loss became the making of him, not the breaking of him. And because of this devastating loss, he went on to train harder than ever, so that he may never lose again. Learning all of the techniques and the way of the dragon. Over time he became unbeatable. The people gave him a name and it was known far and wide. But one day, he was forced to face the very same man that made him feel that horrible loss. Those feelings of failure and brokenness returned. But just when he was about to give up and give out…the power of flashbacks, friendship, and plot armor helped him pull through. He Won and became a Legend.

Not fair match, the winner was holding on to the edge of the table which gave advantage.

The marine stretch out his arm, that's a major mistake. The Japanese kept leaning in. He had the advantage.
