Some people like somebody because they're gay. I don't care about that s***. They like somebody because it furthers their own agenda. I like Sylvester because he's a good singer with great material. I'm a straight man with no sexuality because of radiation treatments. It has freed me from being like most people are. Besides this, remember that God has rules and we know what they are. If you just let yourself go with every feeling you have, judgment might not work out for you....

He’s my guy. Sylvester did so much, in music and for gay people, and has never really got the recognition for that. Perhaps because he was way before his time. In Sweden, where I live, he is almost unknown by my fellow hbtq. I miss him so much. ❤❤❤

I miss sylvester because he was gay and not a blasphemous person and he didn't hate God orJESUS he was in to the music not into demonic rituals, wichcraft, ect, ect. He didn't sell his soul for fame or money and he was humble. Not Like today's gay people in the media they worship Satan, sam smith comes to mind and so many more Satanists... and i am not viewing this video because i can't stand the queen they started with, doesn't even come close to SYLVESTER JAMES toe nails..

I just purchased both your gay and lesbian history and the history of Eve Adams and I was wondering why no one discusses current day conversion therapy. What are the current day methods and procedures for example. If you have any information I would appreciate it. Looking forward to reading about this little known writer. Thanks

She's a misandrist. But I guess because she throws hate towards men, feminists applaud her. Hypocrites. I'm sure it would be a different reaction if the changed "men" for "female" and the statement she did were by a gay men. "Men population should be *reduced* to 10% of human race" More or less her hateful words.

I so appreciate that Noam Sienna explained that Talmudic non-binary sexes were implemented as legal categories based on physical features, rather than as gender identity words. As a traditional Jew who doesn't connect with gender, it really grates on me when people who aren't ritually literate tell me, "well the Talmud says there are X genders! Judaism is non-binary!" Because not only is it not true (gender is far too recent a concept, and the purpose of these categories was to re-assign a sexual binary to people that might otherwise fall outside it), but their practice wasn't gendered to begin with. And it's often used as a 'gotcha' against ritually observant Jews, which is still insulting to observant non-binary/non-gendered Jews. Anyway, thank you Noam for helping me feel seen.

If you've ever seen the pretty terrific made-for-tv-movie ( i think it was) "Playing For Time", with Vanessa Redgrave, in the 70s or very early 80s, there's a couple characters in the story who are women who are in a lesbian relationship. . . . . In the movie, the character Redgrave plays, said something very close to this, and i remember it still: " It's a wonder that anyone can feel anything", said in response to another concentration camp member in her housing unit who criticizes the two women, who are seen being affectionate in their bunk bed area. . . . . There had been so little televised content about LGBT+ themes back then, an certainly almost always negative, that i remember the movie for partly that representation.

Interestingly, because i was also all about The Little House on the Prairie", yes, i AM 53- how'd you guess?) , i was enthralled when Melissa Gilbert portrayed Anne Frank in another made-for-tv-movie, and what also spurred my interest in the Holocaust that i hold still. . . . The ending arc of this story: it was the diary-interest that led me to start to keep my own diary, and what then led my parents to find out i was gay at 12 . . .in a student at a Catholic school. . . in the midwest . . . just as AIDS was the headlining news story, and everyone was scared to death of the gays at that point, and that stupid idea of having a diary then led me to Catholic-anti-gay-conversion therapy treatments.

I misinterpreted the title of the video and thought I would be seeing the play. I really enjoyed the conversation about the life of Margot Heuman and, also, to learn about the work done by women involved “…on their journey taking Margot’s story from page, to stage, to the world wide web.” Has the play made available to the public?

We just finished watching this excellent compilation. Special thanks to Jim Provenzano for all that you continue to do. My partner at the time and I were so proud to dance with the San Jose, CA-based El Camino Reelers square dance group and many other square dance clubs at the Opening Ceremonies at Kezar in 1986. Reelers still dances weekly in Palo Alto, if anyone is interested in learning or participating, even as a volunteer.
