What is the most beautiful to see, besides Meryl's work, is the mutual support and love. And Ann's singing!!

Wow…how beautiful is Meryl? Why would the interviewer bring up “Silkwood” & we now “have some footage with Meryl Streep” before she embarrassed herself stating that she hopes to see her at the Oscars (who won the Oscar Award for Best Actress) in a derogatory tone & then turned her sickening poised performance to her true self when the videographers & audio engineers didn’t cut in time!!! Really? Who is this interviewer??

When i first saw Meryl & Pierce doing Winner Takes It All, I was with my son's father, who I'd had a very intense relationship with that was with another woman that was with us when we watched it, it was a very loaded scene!

This is terrribly disappointing. Ms. Streep should have also researched also the moral depths to which Thatcher was willing to go politically. Her policies were morally obscene, and she knows it. It's a cop-out otherwise, regardless of the show she's on, and despite all archival footage to the contrary.

There’s a scene from the TV series Little House on The Prairie, Laura and Almanzo are engaged, working out their lumps, and Ma describes so eloquently her thoughts on relationships. Somehow we all, married or not, give up some or a good portion of who we are, to fit and bend for someone we love. I completely agree with the line in Bridges that Francesca and Robert would perhaps have lost the magic eventually, she believed in being anchored somewhere, he believed in being anchored no where: more to do with spirit and heart, not sex or romance. It couldn’t work.

It seems to me we cannot ectively weep enough solemn tears for those lives lost at Auschwitz. Something about the story makes me weep the bitterest tears, and from the inmost part of my heart's sorrow. The abhorrent evil of that "choice" I pray no parent ever has to make again. Never again.

Still...over 40 years later people say Meryl was wonderful but the movie was not. I dont understand those comments at all. Im from Buffalo, Irish catholic and saw this movie in Miami Beach while on vacation. Theatre was packed, i got there late but found a seat after two kind people saw me looking and moved over so i could sit on the aisle. After awhile i could hear wimpers and light crying. As we got through the movie it increased to heartbreaking sobs as i realized i was sitting with a huge Jewish group trying to see this movie. I was so taken in by the sadness and heartbreaking moments i shared with them including the couple who moved over for me. Most i noticed were in their 60s, perhaps lived it and lost people they loved. No movie has ever touched me like Sophie's Choice. 😢
