Having serviced loads of HQ mowers I'd really like to see brass inserts for the screws on the bottom half of the chassis. That would be a significant upgrade for the long term durability of their robotic mowers. While I find the Ambrogio mower more interesting it's hard to ignore the technical support aspect of HQ and sparepart availability. They are commited to giving the end user a great experience whereas other brands could care less once the customer has bought a product.

Hi, In the workshop, it's a mix of repairs and services, but our technicians tend to get around 4/5 done a day - depending on how many machines are booked in our queue at that time.

Thanks. I’ve had a fantastic run out of my Husqvarna over five years - and would absolutely buy another in a heartbeat. Our LARGE lawn is cut really well, and the blades last ages, certainly MUCH longer than suggested here - I typically replace them only once every four months in peak growing season. A lot of the so-called negatives from this reviewer are actually complete rubbish. Eg: it does NOT lose traction on uneven ground as the weight is mostly on the rear wheels. Also: Husqvarna’s swinging blades are a much safer system.

I'm really late to this party. Wow there's some saltiness here in the comments. Here's a bit of history in my experience. We moved house in 2016 and the owner threw in a Robomow RC300 as they couldn't be bothered to take it with them. That robot mower did a cracking job on the lawn until it broke down in 2020 with an unspecified error code that no amount of googling would resolve. But it left the lawn perfect albeit I probably spent about £600 on new battery, base station, blades, wide wheels and cutting motor where the fixed blade had hit something in the lawn and damaged the bearings. It got retired and I bought a Honda engined petrol mower. My lawn is about 700m^2 but has bumps and ruts where the pesky moles have been so the finish from the new mower is a bit hit and miss. What I loved about the robomow was that it went out in rain or shine so the lawn was always kept short despite the bumps. Using a manual mower in our wet Summers you have to wait for it to dry up which could sometimes be weeks then you're cutting really long grass and it cannot get in the dips like a small robot mower can. Anyway, enough preamble. I want another robot mower for 2025. I've been looking at reviews since Summer 2024 but cannot decide as each website say's their best buy is the best but all are different and when you go onto Amazon to look at the reviews, none match with the reviews from the websites. I came across Ambrogio today, it's not a very well known name here and decided to do a little more research. I've got to be honest I love the small footprint and the wide wheels. Someone on here who drives off road trucks was saying the wide wheels are worse than thin wheels, not so, take it from me, before I put the wide wheels on the Robowmow it was digging ruts when it got stuck, after it worked really well. Yeah thin wheels on cars work better in snow (think of having your hand trod on by a high heeled shoe compared to a flat shoe) its about point load. But in mud or sand what's the first thing an off roader does if it's stuck? They let the tyres down to get out. The wide wheels and gel filled tyres in the Ambrogio would simulate exactly that so I was sold already on the Ambrogio. TBH I was rooting for this brand and having watched this video I was eager to find out more about Ambrogio. Guess what, there is little to no information or critical reviews out there, but I wanted to do due diligence before I pulled the trigger and the only website that came up with unbiased reviews was Which? (a sort of consumer centric website in the UK which tests and reviews anything from washing machines to cars to mattresses to whatever you can imagine) But it cost me £40 to join for a year. Well having signed up I went straight to the Ambrogio Twenty Deluxe review - 72%. amongst the cons, battery cannot be consumer replaced, struggles on uneven ground, noisy (68dB). Top of the list at 88% and 87% Bosch Indego, 3rd in the list - Husqvarna Automower 310 Mk II. In between several more Husqvarnas, Worx, Flymo, Gardena's, Hondas Stihl's in 20th Place the Ambrogio Twenty ZR. The only Ambrogia in their list. I was a bit shocked. The Husqvarna and Twenty are about the same price, albiet you can get the Am around £1200 at one place I looked otherwise £1300-£1400. Husq is a little more expensive but if you shop around you can get it about the same ballpark maybe £30 or 40 more so we can compare apples with apples. While the OP may be convinced about the Ambogia, without good critical reviews out there I cannot be taking a chance on one opinion, and that's not to disparage MowerMagic, I've dealt with them before for my Robomow in the past and they have been the epitome of professionalism and alway a pleasure to deal with. I'm going for the Husqvarna - sorry guys.

After spending a 100 hours, this doesn’t work at all. It simply keeps beeping after the break too. Pity that husqvarna couldn’t provide a decent solution to wire break problem. It’s a pity because this would have made the robot with it. Now they deserve extinction at the hands of Chinese companies.

Hi there, The largest of the Cobra Chipper (CHIP700L) would be suitable for 4-inch material, but the smaller models can only effectively shred 3-inch material.

Hi, If you want a wider cut, the Cobra is definitely the winner at 51cm. But in our opinion, the Hayter will provide a better cut and has many more premium features for the price.

My Ambrogio motors got very noisy/squeaky this season, I can hear the robot 300' from the garden. Did you ever have such a complaint? I thought Ambrogio motors did not require any lubrication. Did you disassemble the Ambrogio motor to service it?
@mowermagic
@mowermagic 6 ай бұрын
Hi, Sorry to hear about your issue, this is not an unheard of issue, sometimes it can be as simple as there is something stuck in or around the wheels, or potentially in the mow motor output shaft. During service, the robots are nearly entirely disassembled to check the gaskets and all the internal parts. If you would like any further information, we would be happy to discuss it with you at [email protected]

I have an Ambrogio Twenty Elite - so very similar to the reviewed mower here. I agree with the reviewers that the components quality is of a high standard and more ‘industrial grade’ rather than the Kees/Worx build and components which are more ‘consumer’ grade. On my Ambrogio Twenty I most like - 1. the build quality. 2. the cutting blade (which I can easily sharpen and which cuts well. 3. the potential to control the mower remotely using either gsm or wifi. I dislike 1. the wheels which leave broad trails in the grass and tend to slip in wet grass. 2. the programming/app which is truly the worst app I have ever seen! The English is virtually incomprehensible and the programming of the mower tortuous and the ability to contact the mower remotely is sporadic. In conclusion I would say the mower is a solid, high quality, well engineered machine with real potential for extensive programming and remote control but badly let down and limited by an awful app.

I own an Ambrogio Tech D1 for 2 years now and I find it an absolute rubbish machine: 1. The app on IOS is so bad that you cannot connect to the machine at all. The only support I get is: “ Please update the app” 2. The knives are dull quite quickly and they dare to charge EUR 45,- for a small peace of stanless steel that cannot be sharpened or serviced. Prepare for an added annual cost of EUR 135,- for a 150m2 lawn 3. The machine tends to dig itself into the garden when it bumps into something, leaving 2 small holes of the size of a tire everywere on your lawn. Hope this helps anyone to make a sane discision and prevent them from throwing away EUR 1500,- on the most expensive brick in your garden.
@mowermagic
@mowermagic 4 ай бұрын
This is not the experience of the vast majority of Ambrogio users. 1. "you cannot connect to the machine at all" - clearly false information as you clearly CAN connect to the machine using the App. 2. "The knives dull quite quickly" - they are solid stainless steel sharpened to a high degree. They do not dull fast in normal use. They are good for several seasons in normal use and do not need sharpening. 3. "Prepare for added annual cost of EUR 135" - you do not state what this relates to and I see no need for any other annual cost. 4. "The machine tends to dig itself..." - this is not something we are seeing with our fleet or other people we know. You lawn may need remedial work if it is in very bad state. 5. "Hope this help.." - it helps show that the person leaving this review is actively trying to spread mis-truths about the machine, with most of the post having little relation to the reality of the machines actual performance.

This is quite a biased review - nothing positive in any way about the Kress machine?! When you then go on your website and see you sell Ambrogio but not Kress - kind of defeats the whole purpose of the video when it’s not objective.

I thought the same, very biased and clearly did not know the Kress at all. They hadn't a clue about the shoe or the reason the top moves as it does, the fact the battery can be changed in minutes and the statement about OAS leaving a large area around obstacles being misleading as the side trim technology takes care of that. All these within another 40 minutes of video to go.
