Ian looks like he's on some pretty heavy devil's dandruff. Great performance though!

I saw them open for Metallica and then caught their headline tour in 1990. Opening for Metallica they were on fire. It was like a modern Led Zeppelin - completely bonkers performance. What happened? 1989-90 ST tour they sounded like a giant pile of bloated shit. Too much posing. They were a thousand times better in 1991-92 and ever since. 1989-90 was trash, their worst sounding tour ever. Matt Sorum was way better with The Cult 1999-2001 than the cinder block playing of 1989-90.

I bumped into Dave Davies just outside of Central station in Exeter. Unfortunately I called him Ray. We chatted. And now i completely understand why he was wearing a trench coat, trying to not be who he was, Imagine having a brother like that!! It was around the time I tried to sell a Big Issue to Dawn French, it was Jennifer Saunders!!. She ignored me, probably because i got her name wrong Jennifer was a pretty shit person, there is a stink to pretension. But. i did meet Janette Crankie! And said Hello!! You wanted me to say Fandabadoozie!! And she was a pretty picture in pink, nothing like the little boy she was made to be!! I didn't try to sell her a Big Issue, I had none left!!

Si las discográficas le hubieran hecho el 10% del "bombo" a los Kinks (campaña mediática) que le hicieron a U2 hoy serían el primer supergrupo. (10 es mucho)

For me, it's one of the best written songs I've heard. Likewise is Red Dirt Girl by Emmylou Harris, if you've never heard it or of her. Both are an astonishing marriage of poetry & words, in my opinion.

So weird that he introduces the drummer, the bass player, and the keyboardist, and doesn't bother with his brother, the horns, or the backup singers.

If you truly appreciate music you love the Kinks because they are real people playing live with no backing tracks. What you hear is what they are playing and they are a great live band.

Superb. I've seen others from OGWT's Shepherd's Bush series, and this has to be the best quality video and audio of them all. I wonder if the full audio was ever released (I assume they played a longer set than this.)

Actually, Ian says at the 30 minute mark that Andrew Wood died the day before. That would make this show at the Toledo, Ohio, Toledo Sports Arena on 03/20/1990. Either way. Great Video, Great Show, Great Band!

Great upload. The Music Machine were the best Of all the garage bands. Such a full, heavy sound unlike the paper thin sound of some of the others, notably The Seeds.

It’s sad to see how crappy The Kinks got in the mid to late 70s. For the most part these songs are tired, and the band weren’t playing to their former strengths. Thank god punk happened.

I stumbled into The Cult one drunken weekend while watching Saturday Night Live. I later told people about this great band I saw, but forgot the name. Then my friend Richard came over with an album I just *had* to listen to. It was Love. I fell in love.
