Recorded demonstrations on KZbin are rather limited and do not reflect full requency response, dynamics or presence of overtones due to the A/D conversions of the analog sound pressure via the microphone characteristics. A better way is to perform using a calibrated microphone with extended frequency response and monitor with fft spectrum analysis starting with the open c# note with and without the sound bridge. The same can be done systematically through the 3 flute octoves. The microphone placement is important as it should be in the same place somewhere nearby but not at the flute, both with and without the sound bridge. The sound bridge may potentially have sympathetic resonance at some frequencies but unlikely to be at equal levels through all notes on the instrument. As for better tuning, that is related to the mechanical dimensions of the instruments, temperature and what the performer does with the embouchure using bio feddback while playing, especially for the flute which can modulate the note 1/4 tone higher or lower by directing the air into the headjoint. The "manual" for the clarinet version lists "hard rubber mouthpieces in the tables but I have never seen a "clear" hard rubber mouthpiece which is shown in the illustration on that page? I'm not convinced of any enhancement in the production of tone, but if a musician feels better with the sound bridge, then perhaps the musician will have more confidence.

Heavy wall, .018" - darker sound, more resistant, heavier. It can play like other flutes in standard wall or thin wall, but you have to work for that sound! I have one and love it.

It's hard to say if there is improvement, since the player is clearly making mistakes. I think you would need to play an excerpt that you can play cold every time.

Most of the players on Instagram who use them sound like crap. Wind players do love their toys, though. It’s easier, psychologically and spiritually to buy a device and imagine it’s working than to spend years despairing over your ppp high register entrances, your legato, your homogeneity of tone etc. That shit is hard.
