The black journal with the "Tom Marvolo Riddle" names belongs to the Harry Potter Franchise. :) I would love to know how you can fill a journal in a day. I struggle, real hard with my journal slumps. Oh, and Congrats on the success on your No Buy Challenge!
@kiwichick13804 ай бұрын
Thanks for your comment and congratulations. Journal slumps can be hard to get out of especially if mental health issues are involved. I wish I had some advice to help. For me January is a slow month activity-wise so it is when I really get stuck into my journal projects. They are usually based on some aspect of psychology so there is a lot of reflecting on my life, behaviour, triggers, trauma etc and because I find psychology so fasinating I write a lot about it in my journals. I can easy spend the whole day writing hense how I can fill a really small journal in a day. I have studied and reflected on attachment theory, polyvagal theory, dysfunctional, abusive vs healthy relationships, family systems, personality types etc and I write about how all of this stuff relates to me, my family, past relationships etc. Some of it is tough to look at but I'm always looking at ways to better cope with things and how to be the best version of me as I can so I find it very rewarding. That is how I write so much. Plus I do my usual journaling too about what is going on in the world and how it effects me.

What is your preferred journal size to write in?
@kiwichick13806 ай бұрын
Hi, Thanks for your interest in my channel. Having tried out all sorts of different journal brands and sizes, my favourite journal size to write in is A5. This size allows me to stick lots of ephemera into my journals, most stickers look great on pages of this size and the page sizes aren't too big and daunting to write on.
@pens_n_pals6 ай бұрын

How do you find the overall quality of notebooks and stationery from Temu? Maybe you need to consider a low buy instead of a No Buy. You could challenge yourself to x amount of no buy stationery days each month to start with so that you can build from there knowing that they are always going to be certain times when you are likely to splurge on stationery like back to school. You could also challenge yourself not to buy stationery every other month. The key thing is not to then compensate by buying too much stationery in the month that you are able to purchase. You definitely don't want to hoard things like pens and run the risk that when you get around to using them that the ink has run dry or have stickers that end up losing their stickiness. The biggest thing is to recognise your trigger points and work with them so you don't think you are going to automatically set yourself up to fail.
@kiwichick13806 ай бұрын
I like the quality of temu's journals but then I only use ballpoint pens which never bleed through. All of temu's journals are real sturdy binding wise. The only exception is the van gogh square sketchbooks I bought to journal in. The spine started peeling away just by opening and closing it so I wouldn't recommend them. Thanks for the great advice on my no buy challenge. I definitely think a low buy to start would be a good idea to ease me into the challenge. I've already found that some of my pens don't work by the time I got to use them 😔. So I'm aiming to not buy anything until I absolutely need them.
@paperwormscat97606 ай бұрын
Do you have any tips against journal slumps? Why do you write about articles? Because you are analyzing them and giving your opinion on them? What keeps you writing?
@kiwichick13806 ай бұрын
I do have some tips, which are the opposite of the advice other journalers recommend. My advice is keep writing and if that means forcing yourself to write when you don't feel like it, just do it. The reason I say this is that I find that when I'm in a journaling slump, if I keep writing, then I actually write my way out of the journaling slump. Now what you write about is important when doing this. You need to do something completely different in order for you to get your inspiration back for writing. What works for me is giving myself a project and this means finding a topic that you are really interested in learning about, researching that topic and using your journal to record what you have learnt. Some of my past topics have been urban legends in my town, city, country; mythological creatures around the world (there are so many more than bigfoot and aliens). I decorate the pages with pics of that topic. I also reflect on what my theories are regarding these things. Your topic needs to be broad enough that it can run for at least a week. I find that during that week , I get my inspiration back for journaling and then I slowly incorporate my normal journaling back into my practice again. I hope this helps.
@paperwormscat97606 ай бұрын
@@kiwichick1380 That is a really good idea, Kiwi. My only problem is, that I have a genereal depression or burnout regarding life. I don't find topics anymore that interest me much. I feel no need to write about anything. And in those moments, I hit a total roadblock. I have not answered penpal mail for six months. I feel so guilty about that, too. Well, today, I gonna make a flip through. I made it halfway through my very slim journal, and it took so long!

I can't work due to health reasons so I have a lot of free time. Plus I print out news articles and have a good old rant about how the world has gone to crap. How do you keep track of what you want to glue where? (Articles, that you still want to glue in?)
@kiwichick138010 ай бұрын
I have a system in place so that I know where everything goes. I usually take note at the end of each day what articles I wanna print out. In my a4 journals 1 article no matter how long it is goes on one page with room left for my Reflection. I don't have a printer at home so print stuff at the library. I have codes on the empty pages so I know what goes there ie photos, article, that I need to print. I then take note of the name of the articles, date, publication. When everything is printed it goes into a folder linked to each journal. So I know where everything goes. Ideally I'd do it all at once but for me my daily journal writing is most important and I don't want to get behind in that, waiting to print stuff out at the library.
