Came from Moto Stars. I saw 70 PSI and thought new tire and setting the bead and someone then got distracted and forgot. Oops. Yeah, that was never gonna work. Glad you're ok.
@only2smokes5 күн бұрын
Just a bruised ego 😂😂 but thanks man! And finally someone who actually has some experience doing their own maintenance comments lol everyone on motostars video trying to tell me 70psi is impossible 😭😭😭 I’m about to go inflate it to 100 and take a video just so they can be educated in common sense
@seanylewl6 күн бұрын
What do you mean you forgot to 'adjust' the tyre pressure, leaving it at 70psi? Usually if you neglect your tyre pressures, the pressures tend to go down not up... and especially not up to double the normal amount? Why on earth did you have it at 70+psi to begin with?
@only2smokes6 күн бұрын
@@seanylewl lol good question. But I mounted a new tire and to get the bead to set you have to really air it up. And I let the bike sit for a month before putting the wheel back on so I forgot I had that much air in lol

Aside from replacing the stator and rectifier at 48k miles I’ve had zero issues with the ol girl. She has 53k now, and to be honest I beat the hell out of the thing and it’s been the most reliable bike you could ask for. I bought it from my brother who put the first 40k on it, and also abused the poor thing every time he rode it, but with proper maintenance and knowledge on how to ride these inline 4 jap bikes will last forever. The old red ‘99 ninja 600 in the background has almost 80k on the clock, and would still run like a dream if I hadn’t let gas sit in the carbs for a year and clog things up. But as long as you keep up with oil changes and keep your valves in spec these old jap bikes will almost never let you down!

@Zbruh69 my father is in his late 60s and has been riding his whole life, so like you, he’s full of those often overlooked maintenance tricks! As kids he would always make sure we had our clutch/brake perches slightly loose so when we hit the ground (which happened quite frequently) we wouldn’t break our levers and ruin a day of riding. We spent every weekend riding in the woods as kids i miss those days, mostly because nowadays I put in one good day of offroading and I’m sore for the next week 🤣🤣
@Zbruh69Ай бұрын
@@only2smokes thats actually a great idea, I'll pass that along! I have sissy bars on my bikes now lol 😂 smashed my hands wayyyy to much in the woods. Luckily I'm pushing 40 but feel like 60 sometimes lol 😆 been riding a 2 smoker my whole life. @Zbruh69 i can’t ride without barkbusters either I’ve shook hands with way too many trees in my past lol and I grew up always on 2 strokes myself, first big bike was an ‘84 Yamaha it200 I got when I was 12 or 13, rode that bike for years before I locked the bottom end up and decided to sell it. Wish i never sold it, I loved that damn thing. But I’m glad to hear you’re passing your passion for bikes on to the younger generation, i don’t know where I’d be if I didn’t have riding to clear my mind and get me out of the house. It can be a lifesaver sometimes!
