So on the G chord you strum all 6 strings On the Em you strum all 6 On the C you strum from the 5th down (you can reach your thumb round to mute the 6 th string by resting your thumb on it just incase you hit it also,though it's not a big deal if you do as you are only learning) On the D's you strum from the 4th string down.
