Noting you buy can bring happiness! Happiness only comes from having fun, making memories, having a partner, children and a close family unit. Everything else is pleasure which is short lived.

It's not just about watches he's talking about all material pocessions or things like holidays. Basically it's about realising those things won't bring any lasting happiness, contentment or peace of mind. You have to train your mind to see the truth, the reality, control your wants, your craving and desires. Or to put it another way learn to accept the way things are and let go of those things

I only wear watches that have sentimental value. My great grandfather's old watch, for example.

I own a about 10 watches, there are nice to wear when you go out, problem is,you need to have your wits about you, people out there are scanning your wrist, electric bike and scooter brigade are up and down waiting for the next victim,so there's normally 6-7 of us walking side by side like a force field,keeping an eye on these chances,if you on your own you need to be weary,some people like clothes,some like cars,others drink out there monie (then look at you with envy)it's an asset if you get stuck for cash,but in all you need your wits about you,times are hard,for some🤔😎

I have 4 watches. 3 wooden ones I've bought, and one metal one that was a gift. None of these watches are over $100. I like them. They tell the time. They are not part of my identity.

Was a watch dealer. Harrisons no5 chronometer was (of its time) the same as if today we had a time machine, (in terms of technology) and was the most beautiful artefact ever made by the hand of man. All things have their place, the trick is to put them in the right place.

@tomsop8 күн бұрын
I hate the editing - it reduces the credibility of the presentation because so much is being cut it appears maybe the message is being censored - but when you listen to it it seems to flow. Maybe a better podcast to listen to than watch.

Loving the new show and guests, but other comments are right. The AI splicing out even half second pauses is too much. Let the silence be man, especially for deep concepts like stoicism. Playback speed on 0.9 / 0.85 feels little better.

While I love the video, the numerous quick cuts make it seem jittery, even when only listening. I would rather have the natural cadence, even with some longer pauses.
