@@GetTheGaffOutdoors when is the spawn? and also thanks. but what is the minimum length a bass has to be to keep it? in oregon a rainbow trout has to be 8 inches to keep it. but i dont keep if it is not 10 inches more on trout. but ya curious to size limit. not just how many one can take home. so 3 questions..... when is spawning over? how many bass can you take home i a day? what is the length they have to be to keep? thanks

@MOUNTAINOUS usually April/May or so. I’m not sure if there is a size limit in IL but you can only keep 3 and only only after June 15

I've got a 3/4 acre pond with Georgia Giant Bluegill, Common Bluegill, Redear Sunfish, Black Crappie, Yellow Perch and a few wipers. I've got fat head minnows, Rosie red minnows, crappie minnows, rainbow shiners, silver shiners and golden shiners. I have two inlets both fed by artesian springs, intake bay, bog filter and stream. I've got a lot of water movement for a pond temp stays about 55 degrees below two feet deep. My deepest point is about 16-17 feet deep average is 7-8. I just finished stocking last fall. I'm hoping spring 25 to see some breeding from my yellow and walleye. Only time will tell.

Just atarted watching ep4. Have not seen the first 3. You never know what you will hook in the current. Often it is a 10+ northern. You must go in earlly june. Unless it is a late spring. The bass spawn at 63deg f. Tie on a Rebel teeny pop-r with an orange mouth. Cast it right next to shore and ket it sit. Be patient. Give it a twitch then be patient. Then give it a big pop. Or just wiggle ot in place. I have counted 13 different ways a bass can hit a surface lure. Whwn a 10lb northern hits it. You know it and often see it coming. Take my advice on this. Use a dremel drill to grind the barbs off all your hooks. You will kill less fish and you wont have to watch your buddy push a hook the rest of the way through his thumb. Clip off the barb. And pull it back out. He is a real outdoors man and he turned white and nearly fainted.. A toad is big 18inches. A football is 20in.

Saw the other comment first, thanks a bunch for watching! This was our first trip to the BWCA. In a more recent series we went to Lac La Croix and did find some BIG pike. This video was actually opening week. The water was still very cold and the smallmouth were full of eggs. Not a lot of top water action yet. I actually shoot a lot of videos catching smallmouth on top water in tiny little creeks in my home state of IL
