Is there any proof that they are Jews? Or did Jews teach the tribe to say Shema Yisrael?
That's okay,,,,We already know who we are. White man made up that DNA test crap.

Bonito porém tem algo errado! Se é uma tribo na África, isolada, longe de todos não cantaria um Shemah Israel tradicional! Cantaria de uma forma primitiva, e não de uma forma atual.

Beautiful but there's something wrong! If it is a tribe in Africa, isolated, far from all would not sing a traditional Israel Shemah! I'd sing in a primitive way, not in a current way.

They're not Jews. Most probably to be indians taught by Messianic Christians to look like as if they had converted Lost Tribes.
@noahmetoyer62938 жыл бұрын
+Gabriel Falcão (Gavriel Bar-Netz) you can look at people and tell whether or not they are Jews?
@Phoenixspacecraft8 жыл бұрын
+Noah Métoyer I can easily recognize that they don't have anything Jewish or related to us. This "song" is quite early and it's impossible that they developed it by themselves, as happened to other Jewish groups (Sefaradim, Mizrahim, Ashkenazim, Teimanim, etc). By the way, it's not the way we say the Shema.
@noahmetoyer62938 жыл бұрын
I'm fully aware as a halakhic and RELIGIOUS Jew who lives in the Southern United States that they are saying the Shema in a way that sounds like a Christian hymn. My objection to you is based 1) on your certitude abt their status per halakha 2) your apparent belief that "Indians" can't be Jews 3) And the utter non-existence or at least irrelevance of Jewish "ethnicity." Judaism is a religion, a religion you can be born into but a religion that sincere man woman or child can convert to.

Who in their wildest dreams would have imagined that a mere two weeks after the dinner, just 5 days after this video was posted, the Dayan is no longer with us. He passed away to a better world this morning and he will be missed by his many friends. I have known him for more than 40 years and just can't believe I will never see his smile, nor hear a joke or good "wort" from him anymore. Yehi zichro boruch

Says who? They're singing it with a very "American" style tune. Kind of suspicious. When ancient Jewish are found in obscure places, they have their own very unique traditions. Think of the Jews of Hadramawt Yemen, for example. They surprised the world with their authentic ancient Jewish traditions. Somebody here mentioned a Pastor Wieland. This sounds more likely to be source of this tribe's newfound Jewishness. ;)
