I was just tempted to buy a couple of her books from Amazon today. Im wondering what quality of paper is used. It sounds very sturdy in this video

She has so many books available! The paper is the Amazon quality paper so it's not that great but I find I can usually get 5 to 6 layers of color down before it won't accept anymore.

Wish I actually knew how well these pencils color but unless I can actually try them myself by buying a small package of eight or ten I can’t waste money buying a product I’ll never use.

I’ve seen the smaller sets of 50 or 75 but their still @25-35$ a set for me and It would be nice to just be able to buy a small box of 12 or something for a couple bucks to try out.

Hi Cathy! Sorry I missed Your Live Stream, I have been working on a page from Meine Reise durch Afrika by Rita Berman and I got the First Picture finished. It's a Project Book, and I am still 3 behind. I absolutely love that Pink Lilac Color, it was an excellent choice! 😊💜

I personally like the Kalours better. They are softer then the Brutfuners and lay down a lot more color. I have to use several layers with the Brutfuners to get the same effect as one layer with the Kalours.

The brutfuner are softer , but the best are polychromos and prismacolor

@@Dreaminglonewolf I have the Brutfuner 520 set and in my opinion they are not softer. The lead is hard and for me takes several layers to get the color I want. Maybe I got a bad batch!

@@Dreaminglonewolf I bet they are different batches, seems some companies have changed their formulas quite a bit over the last few years. I got mine about 2 years ago. 520 is quite a lot to organize but I couldn't pass up so many colors! I'm definitely set for years with all the colored pencils I have! Lol

Hi Cathy, I have but it's been awhile, I posted all the pictures together, I believe!! If it helps, I started my 2nd Copy on 27 Mar 2002. I was supposed to move to Indiana, last year ( lol!!) So my books have been packed. I have all the ones from my Original Book stored in a Library on my phone. I will see if I can post them again! 👍😊💜

I find that if pencils don't sharpen I use a free razor blade to sharpen them. But be sure to put them on a paper towel and sharpen them away from yourself to prevent injury. Then I gently sharpen the point in a hand held Kum sharpener to get the point. Or use the point you get from the razor. It works also on pencils that have uneven points. Good Luck. I watch your color alongs and really enjoy them. I don't consider myself an amateur, I am way below an amateur but I do enjoy coloring. Thanks again

Hi Sadia! I love the 520 Kalour set and have been using them on most of the pages I've colored since I got them. They lay color down really well, they blend together well and they are strong. I have a heavy hand when coloring and these pencils hold up well. I did a color a long from World of Flowers book by Johanna Basford and used them...also several of my last color a longs I used them. I love them!

I almost wonder if there is a method to the madness of it. Lol. I've seen a post and the colorist stated that she actually organized them from 1-520 and they made sense that way...but looking at the colors I'm not sure how.
