where are the countertops? why are we just looking at you?

@sothathappened it was my 1st video ever, years ago.. & I originally made it for an outdoor kitchen company out of Canada who wanted the pros & cons.. instead of sending them a long email.. I made this video instead.. & that's how my channel got started! 😬

@@noboringconcrete no, I get it dude, people like that rustic Mediterranean look. On some houses it's a great look. Just not for me.
@noboringconcrete3 ай бұрын
@TREASONHUNTER I see, but then again if it was your house I wouldn't have applied this look because you don't like it, so need to power wash off(fyi, you would need a grinder to tear it off). I do other modern finishes if you check out my socials. These people have modern wood garage doors, beams, posts & accents throughout that tie it all together that warm up this cold modern look.
@TREASONHUNTER3 ай бұрын
@@noboringconcrete yeah I understand, that's how it works with jobs like that, I picked the finish and you do what I asked you. You wouldn't have had the opportunity to apply that because I would have already told you what to apply because again that's how it works.

Did you pour the countertops in this house or did you pour them at your facility and carry them in?
@milesbradshaw956611 ай бұрын
Very nice, that looks like cracked earth texture mat floppy. Did you media blast it before overlay? Poly overlay will start to fail in about 1-2 years if not preped properly, it is meant for new 28 day old concrete ( mainly commercial) because it is so expensive. Grinding and etching are not enough on old concrete to create a proper surface for bonding but sand blasting or other aggressive media blasting is required. I've done a lot of casinos in Reno and Vegas to have seen products fail shortly because old concrete is so dirty, the mirco toppings are a wonderful product if used correctly. And i like lacquer seal with a slip resistant for more weather proffing and easier future maintenance. Very nice job , keep up the good work!

Man that is badass. Did you tint the concrete for more depth? I'm wondering if that's the best option for something similar
@noboringconcrete2 жыл бұрын
I didn't tint concrete. It's just the depth of the metallic epoxy alone. And to think that was 1 color.

I'm resealing/finishing a bathroom concrete countertop. Can you give any tips as far as removing all the old stains, watermarks, sealers and finishes? It was sealed (and waxed) once before, years ago. Do I use mineral spirits? Muriatic acid? I don't know what I'm doing I just used a heavy duty floor stripper and it looks effed up. Help please!
@noboringconcrete2 жыл бұрын
Use Xylene (xylol) in small amounts with a scraper... after that, sand lightly. Use baking soda on heavy stained areas. Other than that, you'll be ready to seal. I recommend XS-327 from surecrete. I prefer matte, but they also offer gloss

Curious what you would use to seal and protect outdoor concrete counter tops used for a grill area? Stained easy and now i need to refinish so I would like to learn from my sealing mistakes and do better this time. Id be happy to send photos for advice?

Feel free to check out surecrete design products. Look for XS-327 matte or gloss. Great product when applied correctly

Hey Rico, I found this video because we are wanting to throw a terracotta coloured concrete floor. We are in South Africa. I cannot find the last video of this little series of video. Do we just mix grey cement with a red oxide to get our desired colour?
@noboringconcrete2 жыл бұрын
Honestly I couldn't tell you.... we use a system base product... meaning, its all pre-bagged/pre-mixed and all we have to do is select the color we want out of 12-14oz color bags, add 5-6qrts of water & mix with white 50lb concrete bags. It's made dummy-proof for guys like me. Sorry couldn't help!
@tenkate-bk3ge2 жыл бұрын
Stop calling them pieces. It’s such a pretentious way of talking about fucking concrete.
@noboringconcrete2 жыл бұрын
Then please tell me what should I call it when the Tops are fabricated in more than 1 piece? Pieces, right? It's plural, meaning more than 1 piece. If I cast more than 1 concrete vessel or concrete light pendant or 100s of concrete tile PIECES, what should I say? Or if i have people leave POS comments, what should I call those PIECES? Oh I know, how about you create your own "PIECES" along with your own channel and you can call anything your little heart desires.
