I just lost my best friend back in November, and it’s just crazy because the funeral happens, and ppl will kinda ask if you’re ok maybe for a few days, and then after that, they expect you to just be “normal” again and be able to function like you used to. Depends on how much your best friend meant to you as well. My best friend, was an amazing man…. He accomplished so much in his short time here on earth, he was soooo talented, and he was ALWAYS there for me. We had a group of friends, and me and him just clicked the most, and he just understood like for example, we both suffered with depression, and we would lift each other up and battle it together. We were friends for 20 years, and during those 20 years, not even one single time did we have any kind of an argument. We didn’t agree on everything, but that didn’t matter to us. We would just agree to disagree. How many ppl can you say that about in your lifetime?!?! He reached out to me during some of my darkest times, and even when we had both been busy and hadn’t seen each other in a little while, it was like having a 6th sense honestly, because anytime I was down and out and isolating myself, he could just sense it and would reach out, he would come over and tell me “no, you ain’t just gonna lay around here and be depressed, WE are going out my boy!!!!” And then I would tell ‘em like “I don’t have the money for that brother. I rlly can’t” and he would just say “stfu, I GOT YOU, let’s go!” And he never made a big deal out of it…. He just wanted to see me smile. No matter where we were at in life, we were just always there for each other. He went through some stuff, and at his funeral, I just remember seeing his Mom, and it instantly made me just break down, and she was crying of course, and she just said “thank you for being such a great friend to him. He used to tell me ‘Mom, out of all of the guys, Aaron was the only one that no matter what, he was right there for me’ and I can’t thank you enough” and I remember just telling her “please, do not thank me at all. If anything, I’m just thankful for him, and you don’t understand how many times HE pulled me out of shit, and got me back on track, and supported me, and was just THERE for me, when no one else wanted to be”. He wasn’t just my best friend…. He was my brother. There’s no doubt about that. He was family, and when you’re THAT close to someone…. I mean not to make it where any of my family members “meant less” to me or anything like that, but it’s been the hardest loss I’ve ever had to deal with. It hurts to your core, and you just want it to be not true, and for it to be just a bad dream….. I fuckin miss him soooooooooo much, that I can’t even describe how much it hurts my heart. I would do anything, and I mean ANYTHING, if I could go back and save him. So I automatically side with Vin, because not very many ppl, will ever know the pain of losing someone who is THIS close to you. They may not be family by blood, but they are absolutely family. RIH MJH, I love you, brother!
