Has anyone had any issue with paint flaking off of palm fronds? I had that happen last year and found this video in trying to find solutions. Thanks!

A simple experiment to show surface tension is to take a dish of water and sprinkle pepper in it. Then drip a single drop of dish soap in the center and all the pepper will move away from the center to the edge of the dish.

Thank you for this. It is one of only two really good methods for modeling miniature oil spills in deep water on youtube.

I find misty with water and PVA can help it stick
@Jennifr19662 жыл бұрын
I feel really stupid asking, but I didn't grasp the concept, which I really want to. I'm trying to learn as much as I can. Could you help me here?
@worldof28mm2 жыл бұрын
The only stupid question is one that isn't asked. What's happening is the washing up detergent is breaking the surface tension of the water which allows for meduims such as glue or paint. for example, if your applying flock to a peice of terrain apply the wet water first and then apply your watered down PVA and it will soak through all the different layers and give you a secure bond and the flock won't be falling off. I hope that helps, feel free to throw anymore questions you might have.

If i dont have this Fairy brand of dish liquid could i see dawn dish detergent? if its different radio, what would the radio to water be? I think the dawn dish liquid is a lot more concentrated.
@worldof28mm2 жыл бұрын
The same amount should be fine, they're basically the same thing, all you need is enough to break the surface tension of the water.

Tf is washing up detergent? Cloth washing detergent?
@worldof28mm3 жыл бұрын
It's the stuff you use to wash your plates and cutlery with. Also known as dish soap, washing up liquid. Check out my wet water video, you'll see it there.

I just found your mordheim board series. Did you end up finishing the board? I'd love to see an update for it. I'm trying to figure out a layout for mine at the moment. But good to see you come back to KZbin.

Good tutorial, I never used gloss varnish or Vallejo water effect. Normally I just put on spackling, smooth it out as best I can and then run a tire or wagon wheel across and paint it, then seal it. I will have to try those water effects out.

Thank you kindly, I used the vallejo in this video because I dont like it, it always cracks on me, try Woodland scenics polyurethane water. Its better than Vallejo but still not good as resin.

Is that a glue, sir? A white pigment That you applied to the wall by your finger..?
@worldof28mm4 жыл бұрын
It is called poly-filler in the UK and caulk in the USA. It's commonly used for filling in holes in a wall, you can find it in most DIY and home stores.

Very good looking and playable! I'm starting a Mordheim scenery project (we start with single houses, for now) with a friend. That game is a bit old but very funny! I've played it just two-three times in my whole life. We have a printed tome (around 700 pages) of official and home rules (in italian. An italian guy translated and created optional rules, years ago).

Awesome!! Barny and I have always loved the game. If your on facebook feel free to put up any pictures of your projects on our group tabletop fanatics.

What material is that?
@worldof28mm5 жыл бұрын
5mm foamboard, in the US it's more commonly known as foamcore.
@TheBlackFrog795 жыл бұрын
world of 28mm thanks! Uhm I don't know how is it called here (Italy). Is it just extruded polystyrene? If I search "foamboard" I get that
@worldof28mm5 жыл бұрын
It's not extruded polystyrene, You can usually find foam board at local hobby shops. As far as I understand its marketed as foam board in the EU. Essentially its foam in between two pieces of paper.
