By the way, the reason there are only 20 cars in modern F1 is they have become bigger because of the hybrid systems and driver' safety, and many tracks are already stretched as they are -adding cars would make qualifying nearly impossible. Besides, when there were 26 cars or more in the 1980s and 90s, most of the extras were thoroughly uncompetitive and ended up being weeded off in prequalifying.

As said before on a previous discussion, F1 has been courting the American market for years yet FOM wish to keep the current 10 teams an exclusive club. If FOM cannot play nice, then it must be forced to do so. The Andretti family has given an inordinate amount to the world of motorsport for over 60 years. It's time FOM recognised this.

Andretti has not beeen refused entry to F1. Andretti has been refuse entry in 2026 and it is already now too late for then anyway. Drops a big bomshell. I think Liberty and F1 who dont forget are based in Paris and not the US will not lose any sleep over it. Andretti have been told they can enter in 2028 with the GM engine. So no case to answer. To many the proposed GM engine was a sprat to catch a mackerla to get Andretti in. Some think it will never happen. I cant see the lack of an Andretti car in the US will make the slightest difference as the sport is already very popular without Andretti and with Andretti will he bring much more interest perhaps , perhps not. Before anyone talks about Haaas they are on the acendancy this year once they had a good driver. F1 is the best and there is always a place for the best in any sport.

If you want to have room for young guns make a rule that combined age of 2 drivers must not exceed 60. so you can have 2 30 year olds or a 40 and a 20 or whatever. It moves on the oldies.

The bias against this American team is obvious! He brings many resources and talent. I would bet if allowed to enter Team Andretti would fare better than a few teams currently in F1......but why would they want to embarrass themselves with this American upstart!

How about "Formula Real" . Each team of 5 people based at a wrecking yard making a car out of 95% automotive parts only and using a 3 litre auto engine of their choosing. Supply each team with a tub to be the basis of the car and televise the construction of the car. No exotic materials and the same tyres on each car.

It's a no brainer, Andretti should definitely be allowed to join F1. I think the existing teams are afraid of being beaten by a US team.
