really relatable! im doing film (and french) rn. im about to finish up first year and then drop out. i feel like i am just gonna finish 1st year for my own peace of mind and so that i dont feel like ive wasted all this time now (8 months) and then in the future i can say to myself 'i completed one year of uni.' i had a good time socially at first, (2 of my flatmates dropped out in nov and dec and then socially i just felt very lonely after that) but i also didnt feel like i was learning anything and the course bored me. it just didnt feel right. no clue what im going to do for a job after i drop out this summer, but i know that uni isnt right for me. i know if i stayed id just feel like i was wasting my time and going into debt for no reason. i dont have any desire to work in the film industry in the future either. i agree with everything that you said. it was really nice to hear from somebody who had a really similar experience and feelings, so glad you figured out what was best for you and were brave enough to take action, ive felt this way for months but have been to scared to actually drop out

Hi Maddie Thanks for this video. I can relate, my son with your experience. He is in the process of dropping from a university this term from film TV and English studies and it is not an easy job , especially when you need to think when give your day of dropping. I would like to ask you about accommodation. The contract says it's for a year, if he leaves before then, he will still be paying until they find another student for the room. That looks cruel to me. How was it for you? Any sort of advice...Please

I was literally the same I locked myself in my room now it makes sense why my roommates was in their rooms the whole time. Sadly I went home straight away when I went to uni my anxiety got so bad so fast it was really alarming 😅

Hi, a bit random and personal but I dropped out of uni after 1st year I did drama but I hated the course and my mental health was really bad as I had moved to Birmingham at 18 to get away from my life but now at 22 going 23 I really want to be a primary teacher, I’m thinking about reapplying for university but Im scared that financially I will not get student finance, just wanted to know any advice please 🙏🏼
