Fantastic video, and great build, I love that you showed the finished model lit up at the end. I unfortunately forgot to do that on my yamato video. great job keep up the excellent work.

Crazy good build. Mine are so cool looking but so poor off road. What size wheel and tire did you end up with
@user-bd5md5cm2j11 ай бұрын
Im working on my high lift and tundra. Where did you buy your wheels and tires. I must be looking wrong. Id like to get some 2" or slightly bigger and i doubt i can use the stock wheels. Your rig is really set up perfect. Gorgeous. I need to get my two rigs up to par. They are so poor off road stock.
@105thArmoury11 ай бұрын
I ended up using the Louise World CR-Champ Super soft crawler tyre 1.9" LT3345VB They are a tiny bit big so you will need to shave a bit of the side steps off so they can make a full turn, you will also want to upgrade the steering servo steering saver as mine just blew up because of the stress of turning the bigger grippier tires. I'm now using the servo saver from a 1/14 scale Tamiya Truck. The tires can be bough from most RC hobby stores but I got mine from RC Hobbyland In Sydney.

I've just built one of these and am working out what colour to do it, one question, the black around the door windows, did you hand paint that part, as it was masked in much of the video but didn't see how you painted it. Thanks, I've loved watching this video series

The satin black was airbrushed and satin clear applied and taped off so the body colour and gloss clear could be sprayed, it ended up being much easier this way

Where are you getting these accessories?
@105thArmoury Жыл бұрын
Most are from a hobby store called Hobbies direct here in Aus, though some are off ebay and amazon, a couple are 3d printed or scratch built
@James-be1gw Жыл бұрын
That’s is epic where did you get the boxes and sand ladders and stuff
@105thArmoury Жыл бұрын
Thanks :D the recovery boards are 2 brands, one is GPM rock crawler recovery boards, the other are some 3D printed maxtrax off ebay. The boxes are Kingsea luggage case 3pc set off amazon, same with the cargo net, the other items are all Yeah Racing, Pro-line or GPM accessories, the only odd ball is the antenna which is actually a tamiya 1/14 truck antenna set covered in heat shrink to give the effect of a UHF antenna.

Hi how to paint the front light bucket
@105thArmoury Жыл бұрын
In the Instructions that the shell or full kit came with it should show you which parts to paint on the headlight buckets, if memory serves most of the head light buckets need to be painted black, so best course is to look at the manual and tape off all parts that need to stay silver/chrome then spray the buckets black

A Huey( I know it’s Iroquois original name, but I love the “ Huey” name, much better) on steroids. Imagine if we had those in Vietnam. I don’t know if it would affect the outcome of the war, but more pilots and troops would have a higher survivability.

I am just curious what tools you would suggest to work on this aircraft as well as others?
@105thArmoury2 жыл бұрын
basic tools would be plastic nippers, hobby knife, plastic model glue, filler putty and sandpaper would be a good start for kits like this, a few more would be some good paint brushes and some fine pointed tweezers
@Venom-rr3lc2 жыл бұрын
@@105thArmoury for the putty and glue do you have a specific brand you use i also saw you using files when building the A10A from academy.
@105thArmoury2 жыл бұрын
@@Venom-rr3lc tamiya is my preferred brand but deluxe materials and Mr hobby are 2 other great brands that i also use. as for the files i only use them when i need to remove a lot of material, in most cases sandpaper will do, but if you need to use a lot of filler as i did in this kit then a the tamiya micro files will be of great help

I had the problem of putting weight in the nose area.No weight is mentioned so I put about 20gm lead weight and after putting on the armaments the assembly is tail heavy.Had to add lead shots by removing piolet seat and rolled in into the nose area. Such tedious work. Academy should specify how much counter weight should be added. Additional instructions is necessary.
@105thArmoury2 жыл бұрын
thats one of the few things academy have been a bit light on with information, especially with their older kits, they haven't really updated up them... ever.... I have started to use deluxe materials liquid gravity, much easier to get the correct weight when guessing XD
