On the other hand, I'd like to see an Aerial vs Nu Gundam crossover. I know Nu will probably win but I'm just curious to see how it will play out.
@ZeheartAznable27 күн бұрын
It'd be Aerial Rebuild VS Nu if I were to tackle it, but Amuro would destroy Suletta the moment he decides to get serious.
@daitoray987627 күн бұрын
Once again Aerial loses. Goes to show that in comparison to many universes, WfM is pretty weak in general especially against the "next-generation" Mobile suits. I often classify various Gundam mobile suits with these 3 labels: Standard, Next Generation, and Ultimate and these labels are mainly meant to show just how powerful a certain Gundam is based on how they perform in all possible sources ranging from Anime depictions to manga and supplemental material. Certain traits also define where a Gundam would fall in here and piloting skill is not brought in until the very end to avoid results. Gruntdams or mass-produced Gundams tend to be excluded in these classifications though. Gunpla Gundams are also not included due to their power levels varying to the point where it's very difficult to actually include them here If I were to make a whole list on every single Gundam though, I'd be here all day so I'm just gonna define what each label means and give a few examples of each one. Standard is basically your average baselevel Gundam without any sort of notable or unique features that completely level the playing field against other Gundams. Often times, these Gundams are the first machines that the main character receives and though it starts off as overpowered, as time goes on, the Gundam becomes less and less effective, forcing it to undergo equipment changes and upgrades until it is either locked away, destroyed, or passed to another pilot. Some examples of this are the Mark II Gundam, AGE-1 Gundam, Rx-78-2 Gundam, Strike Gundam(or all the original GATX mobile suits from Gundam SEED), Impulse Gundam, G-Self(first stages), Wing Gundam, Exia Gundam, X Gundam, Full Armor Gundam Thunderbolt version, and GP01 Zephyranthes in no particular order though if I had to arrange them, I'd say Mark II would be on the lower end, Rx-78-2 being the middle ground, Barbatos Gundam, and G-self on the highest end. For those asking about why the Rx-78-2 is higher than Mark II, the Rx-78-2 was both more durable and had a learning computer that would allow it to pick up on enemy attack patterns and give the pilot a chance against mobile suits that were developed later to match or overpower the machine. Next Generation is typically the "next" Gundam that the MC receives and uses for their second arc and unlike their previous machines, have a new piece of technology that levels the playing field and allows their talent to truly shine. In most cases, these machines are considered to the MC's final upgrade but there have been times when these Gundams are the first Gundams that the MC receives. Occasionally, these machines get replaced or destroyed (in most cases, towards the end) but often times, they're able to last long enough to the point where the pilot will be able to use it till the end of the show or until new technology renders the machine useless. These machines also beat out all the standard machines(before they receive upgrades) or at least be a good match against most of them. Some notable examples are the Freedom Gundam, Justice Gundam, Aerial Gundam(and all its forms), Calibarn Gundam, Zeta Gundam, ZZ Gundam, X Gundam, 00 Gundam, AGE-2 Gundam, AGE-3 Gundam, Rising Freedom, Immortal Justice, Barbatos Lupas, and Nu Gundam. Ariel and Calibarn are tied for the lowest on this spectrum because most of their technology is considered to be irrelevant and ineffective against practically everything else here. Their hijacking abilities are only limited to machines made of the same metal as them and Permit score does nothing overall against most of these machines. Middle would be Zeta Gundam because despite all its power, Kamille ended up carrying most of the work for the Gundam. High would be Nu Gundam because of the funnels and psycho frame technology. Ultimate Gundams tend to be the most overpowered Gundam that the MC receives in the show usually with God-like powers that go beyond the logic of technology. Often times, these are the last Gundams someone will get simply because of how overpowered they are but there have been some that were issued in the beginning. Notable examples examples include: Strike Freedom(and Strike Freedom Type II), Infinite Justice(and Infinite Justice Type II), Destiny Gundam(and Destiny Gundam Type II), Wing 0, 00 Quanta, Double X, Unicorn Gundam, G-Self(Perfect Pack), Barbatos Lupas Rex, Nu Gundam(this is an exception) and High Nu Gundam. Nu Gundam would be on the lowest end and is the only one to appear twice due to it crossing the line between Ultimate and Next Gen due to the fact that most of the time, it could put up a decent enough fight to end up here. Everything else though will vary and depend on the pilot skill simply because it's impossible to decide which Gundam is the best without going into technicalities with their nigh impossible abilities. But hey, this is my own personal thoughts. What are yours?
@ZeheartAznable27 күн бұрын
When it comes to crossovers I view pilot skill to matter more than the Gundams themselves, but it is a part of it. I'd also agree with the way you differentiate the gundams into tiers, it does make it easier to know if something has a chance of winning or none at all. I'd class Aerial to be pretty basic, the only thing it has going for it is the funnel weapons/armour, & if a pilot knows how to fight remote weapons she basically has no advantage past that because of Aerials low output. Rising is definitley in the next gen category, if it had a nuke drive and end game kira as the pilot it'd be ultimate IMO. On your comment for Nu i'd say it makes sense to be both next gen and ultimate, because the basic Nu was incomplete but still incredibly advanced.

@@ZeheartAznable Good to hear! Also, forgive me for rambling, but today I felt like telling someone my weird-ass entry point into the Gundam franchise. Ya see, beyond a few minis a friend had (one of them a gelgoog, from what I remember), all I knew was Gundam had something to do with robots - hell, I didn't even know what an anime was XD. It was a bit over a decade ago when I started getting into anime, and long story short, I had just finished my first one, which I had jumped into partway through due to that being the earliest point available on the network I had at the moment. Seeing how well that had gone, I decided to do it again, and seeing the name Gundam and recognizing it related to mecha, I dived right into it. Of course, I didn't know the significance of the words 'SEED' or 'Destiny', but I figured it wouldn't be too hard to figure out. How much could I have possibly missed? Well, seeing as my first episode was the Impulse vs Freedom fight, I spent the rest of the series massively confused at what any of the characters were talking about lmao. Probably would have quit watching gundam stuff if I hadn't stumbled across the crossover stuff on youtube - wound up introducing me to 00, which is pretty much my favorite version of the show. Anyways, thank you for coming to my TED talk.

On the other hand, one fight that I really want to see happening is the original G-project Gundams and their respective pilots go against the Chaos, Abyss, and Gaia in space so both sides can use their full arsenal. Though I'm 90% sure that the G-project will win due to numbers, skill, and tech, there's a chance that I'll be proven wrong.
@ZeheartAznable2 ай бұрын
The original 5 G weapons against the 3 Destiny G weapons? That'd be tough in space as the extended units spent more time on earth, but still doable if the setting was swapped to earth instead of space. The 5 would win, not only do they have superior numbers (even if we add in the Saviour on their side with Phantom Pain as the pilot) they aint gonna get past 2 SEED factor pilots, put Yzak alongside em and it'd be a slaughter in terms of pilot skills.
@daitoray98763 ай бұрын
The problem with Aerial is that it's really weak against many other mobile suits due to the pilot Suletta. In comparison to many of the other aces we've seen, Suletta fares very poorly against them when they are given an equal level machine. Additionally, the Aerial and its rebuild form are usually only good against technology from their own timeline as Permit scores don't affect mobile suits from other timelines. The same can be said for data storms so that's two of Aerial's advantages taken out. Lastly many alt timelines already have funnel type weapons and thus the aces are usually familiar with these to the point where it Suletta is an annoying fly. It also doesn't help that since the Aerial's remote weapon hijacking only works on permit score type mobile suits so that's another advantage nulified. There were several discussions on Reddit and SpaceBattles on how well the Aerial will perform against the Sinanju and Nu Gundam to which almost everyone agreed that the Aerial will flat out lose in both cases due to the Sulleta's lack of actual combat experience and usual technology advantages having no effect on these machines. In all honesty, I'd put the Aerial above the baselevel Gundams in terms of raw power but at the very end of upgraded machines due to its technology being limited solely to its timeline.

I know I'm going to be the only doing this but I've actually wanted to see one of these fights for a long time and give my own two cents on this. The issue with the Thunderbolt Gundam(also known as the FA-78 Gundam Thunderbolt) is that they nerfed Luna-titanium really harshly in the Thunderbolt Timeline so that a single missile can damage the armor. This is made worse in the manga version where even machine gun fire from a Zaku Machine gun is enough to cripple the Gundam's head. The Thunderbolt Gundam also has the issue of storing most if not all its weapons on its backpack, reducing its combat power when the backpack is ejected and the other weapons are shut off. Because of this, Io really had no chance once the head was damaged due to him losing most of weapons of his Gundam. I should also mention that this is early Io that we are seeing, not late Io from the manga. In the manga Io did improve his skills to the point where he could fight newtypes as long as he had a bit of newtype help in the cockpit. In the movie/OVA though, Io would have no chance against almost anyone in an alternate timeline due to his Gundam's glaring nerfs and his lack of skills. Now onto Yzak. On paper, Yzak's Duel should've stood little to no chance in this fight because his beam weapons are clearly much weaker than Io's and his shield wouldn't have last that long in the fight. He is also limited by power while Io isn't and thanks to his assault shroud, would've been less mobile than Io. In a sense, Io is the closest thing to a druggie in the Thunderbolt Timeline and I'm being generous. Io could've outlasted Yzak in the fight and won. That being said, his PS armor really saved him from all those missiles which is arguable one of the more dangerous weapons of Io's Gundam due to the fact that some can release mirco missiles and destroy all of Yzak's AS armor and weapons in one go. Yzak is also the equivalent to Io in the Gundam SEED timeline due to his short temper yet amazing skill yet unlike Io, he has clearly overcome many of these problems and by the end of Gundam SEED is more than capable of taking on stronger enemy machines and winning on his own(I'm not talking about the Druggies. I'm talking about the Strike Daggers which were made to be superior to the Duel in terms of specs and had pilots that were taking out ZAFT machines like no tomorrow until they were hit by an EMP.). Io on the other hand, never overcame these issues as he lost to an ace machine that required a quadruple amputee and was even defeated by a Gouf controlled by an inexperienced monk pilot.(to be fair, he wasn't paying attention and was just trying to help Claudia snap out of it when he was ambushed and nearly killed.) Undoubtedly Yzak would've won this fight. Error: Yzak can only fire one grenade missile. In here, he fired three. This means that Yzak's victory would've only been possible if he landed direct hits with his beam rifle or with a direct hit from his beam saber.
@ZeheartAznable2 ай бұрын
Yea I gave Yzak a few refills for the better synergy with scenes, & sadly they were what turned the battle in his favour. Yzak wins from his superior skills, the fight itself is just heavily dramatised haha.

Yeah, wasn't expecting to see any more from WfM. Despite the pain in the ass Aerial seems to be, it's still somehow the only one that would actually be usable in these crossovers - The other suits don't get nearly enough fight footage to use from what I've seen, the only ones even coming close to being able to be used in a battle would be Pharact and the Dawn of Fold gundams - and that's REALLY stretching it, with Pharact's odd weaponry looking hard to adapt and the DoF units having only 2-3 battles to scrape footage from. With all this in mind, I'm not exactly expecting to see any more of this series, let alone of Ariel itself.
@ZeheartAznable8 ай бұрын
From what Destiny950s told me theres maybe a chance to use Guel or Lauda & their suits but it's still a tough time getting things to match right. I might take another crack at base Aerial against something at a later date because I didnt quite use up everything it has to use, but honestly I'm not sure what to use against it given the likely best suit was already used against it by 950.
