This is another train that is sorely missed.Spoornet made a big mistake taking the Trans Karoo and Orange Express off the lines.They were legends of SAR.Todays version has a long way to go to compete.What a shame.

For this time ( in year 2023) this tourism train are operated between Sawahlunto-Muarokalaban Railway. The other railway are non actived/not operated and some of rail are loss and taken by thief. The railway from Muarokalaban - Singkarak - Padang Panjang- Pariaman are totally not operationed and some of the rail are loss. i Hope some day, the government and the other stakeholder have concern to Restoration this tourism train.

What an Awesome Movie. No Wind songs Just the pure sound of steam at speed. Its seems though that the one Loco was a little off beet?

I am not sure, you are more the expert than I! It seems to me that one cylinder valve is not closing properly as you can see at the start around minute 10 - quite a frequent occurrence in steam engines.

WOW just fantastic. This takes me back to my firing days on that section. I worked 3481 many times. De Aar had two drivers that worked the Oranje Snel with 3481. I can tell this is Driver Kleinhans at the controls. As he pulls away from Modder River he sets the cut-off and just lets the engine take it in her stride. He was a great chap. Thanks for sharing
