This is a continuation of the metaphor that Lucy won’t be the one to change everything, and the name Katniss “has a much nicer ring” - meaning her name will be known as she she the symbol and leader of the rebellion. 1:47 - Plutarch Heavensbee says “We need every district to stand up to this Capitol, the way you did” - he says that to Katniss, to convince her to be the face of the rebellion and inspire the districts to fight. 2:01 - Katniss says “I make a list in my head, of all the good things I’ve seen people do” - this is to show every act of kindness that Katniss made or that was made towards her. Thank you for watching! I believe Snow has always had psychopathic tendencies, because he was born that way. However, I do agree that with the right upbringing his impulses and behaviour could have been controlled or restrained. People allowed him too much power, not only that, but he was encouraged by the influences in his life to become more and more despotic. So really, I don’t believe he had any feelings for Lucy 😬 she was just a pawn in his game, and the novel often uses the words “obsessive” and “she belonged to him” to describe this. And she was a desirable girl that stood out from the crowd. She had empathy, she was confident, beautiful, radiant, charming. A psychopath always finds himself a women that possesses all these qualities and then he ruins her. He would never be attracted to a boring dull average girl. He can’t stand her be so free-spirited because he could never experience life the way Lucy could, and he is angry at her for it. He could never enjoy the simple life with no praise, money or power. And he wasn’t gonna share that with anyone ever. Snow only used her for personal gain at a specific point in his life. And when he thought she wasn’t obedient enough, her role in uplifting his self-image has run its course, she’s no longer useful, AND she was a potential threat to him, there was nothing left for him to do but to exterminate her. I can’t see their storyline as anything but a big tragedy for a girl that had too much faith in humanity and underestimated the threat. The greatest example of a psychopath eating up an empath.

Literally my experience!! I watched the first movie when I was 12 and was appalled! I came back to it in 2020 and to this day this my obsession, religion, and forever favourite series. I studied the books like a Bible, and I bring up hunger games every chance I get because it is truly a timeless story about humanity, government, war, abuse and control. It’s like the modern ‘1984’ - sadly, very similar to our world and basically an allegory for the entirety of human history. I have immense admiration and respect for Suzanne Collins, she is one of the most remarkable people in the world for being able to write this story. It is a masterpiece.
