@@michaeljmcdonough I'm a colossal fan but he was't technically one of the great 'singers'. Of the early work, this is probably his best vocal & most enduring classic, though he never sang it live b/c it reminded him of whichever woman broke his heart in the first place when he wrote it.
@michaeljmcdonoughАй бұрын
@@TheSixbellschimeWith the exception of The Lie, maybe Eternally is Here too,most live Gun Club footage is not that great. JLP seems like he’s rushing the lyrics. Gotta love the first three albums. Then you get a handful of great songs with not do great songs.
@TheSixbellschimeАй бұрын
@@michaeljmcdonough rushing the lyrics, or was just too out of his brains to finesse them. Yeah live GC isn't great, apart from some brilliant early bootlegs from the first couple of years. I was on that page for years (preferring the early stuff) but then I gave the later albums the time they needed. I reckon all his truly best work was in his later years, which is astonishing when you consider how inspired he was around '80-'82

Thanks, man. Much better than the "awful" comment I got before. Maybe it meant "awfully good." I based the solo on Billy Zoom's solo on the X version of this song. It's much shorter because it's just me and the drums. If you haven't already, please subscribe to this channel. 38 is a luck number I'm told.
