Your rosemary is absolutely gorgous..Where my mom is,at st Mary's hospice,they have got two beautiful big rosemary bushes,the flowers are just stunning & the bees love them..There Rosemary bushes are about 5ft 5,you should see them.. I really want to grow some rosemary I have took a few cuttings & one did root but it died,think the soil was to wet😔😔..I'm trying to root some more now,but I want to experiment..where is the best place to take the cutting from,the older more woody part of the herb or the newer growth??..I really really want rosemary,if I am successful I will be growing it every where😅😅..I will check your link out.. I live in England,is where you live the weather simular to here??.. I absolutely adore your beautiful rosemary,it's just gorgous☮💜☮💜

I just went to your website where you explained everything & about taking the younger stems..Thankyou you,you explained everything in a clear way,I'm going to give this a go.. I also appreciate your honesty with how long the cuttings take to root..fingers crossed it works.. Oh one more thing,when you take your cuttings if you don't root them straight away how do you store them please??..Thankyou,have a great day🍒🌿🍒🌿

@@skullrose8985 I'm afraid, you have to root them straight away.. re England - yes, you can grow lovely rosemary, just place it in south facing location. a friend of mine has one in her garden in london and its doing very well - flowering and growing.. thank you for kind words...

About 8 months ago you reported 50% perished. Have you actually potted any of the survivors? And… After this experience, which is best specifically for bay leaf cuttings, water rooting or going to sandy soil for rooting? Thanks for sharing your experience.
@fignutofficial7 ай бұрын
unfortunately, i did not follow up with update video - i left it for too long and eventually lost the footage. i remember about 50% were succesfull. they were potted and given away to friends and neghbours. for bay leaves i had similar success with other rooting techniques. my preference is rooting in water as for me it is easier to follow what is going on. the trouble with bay leaves is that the whole process lasts much longer then for example figs or lavander, it takes 3-4 months, depending on temperature. so, patience is important as well as changing water regulary.. right now, i am rooting bay leaves from seeds, which also takes very long (similar) time. however, i did not take any footage this time.. i suggest you to try all possible techniques and work out which one works the best for your circumstances.. i hope this helps.. thank you for watching :)

How was your success rate with transfering into media? What soil mix did or do you use? Finally, what's you temp and humidity condition like there where rooting and transplanting? Do you mist at all if a dry environment?
@fignutofficial Жыл бұрын
it was 100% success rate, i got many healthy young trees. for soil, i bought the cheapest available bags. re temperature and humidity - this is my kitchen/living room, so i guess it was around 22-25 degrees celsius (about up to 77 F) and for humididy, i am not sure, but it was "normal" one for our part of the world (Mediterranian sea/Europe). I was doing this during the winter, so it was not dry. And yes, if dry, I would mist. I hope this helps. Thank you for watching my video and if you need any other info, let me know

Have you tried aerating the water with an aquarium air pump and air stone to see if it improves the strike rate or causes them to root faster?
@fignutofficial Жыл бұрын
that sounds as a good idea, i will try - thank you :)
@Bruce_Wayne35 Жыл бұрын
Mine finally sprouted roots. It took 8.5 weeks to root in aerated water, using an aquarium air pump. It might have happened sooner, but the weather is pretty cool now, so that slows things down. I changed the water in the cup every 3 days or so. I didn't scratch the cuttings or cut the bottom at an angle.
@fignutofficial11 ай бұрын

By watching this..I understand what a other guy was speaking about rooting fig cuttings in water. He said that you should put less water in the container. The water level should just be until first node at the bottom of the cutting. Which is at the bottom of the cup. That way the cutting will root at the bottom node because there is less water pressure at the surface of the water so the cutting tend to root closer to the surface of the water. The water pressure makes it hard for the cutting to push out roots. So it's easier at the surface of the water because there is less water pressure. That's why the cuttings here rooted so way up high. Makes sense now
