the first time I saw this was at the first showing of Fellowship. I did disgust my friends tho bacause while everyone was quiet, I blurted out"Stop, in the name of love, before you break my heart". All my friends just gave me a dirty look. the rest of the audience thought it was funny tho. :P

Others did have the power of mind communicating, I think it was called osanwe I would have to look it up. Gandalf used it to tell Frodo to take off the ring when Sauron almost saw him. And Gandalf as Olorin often entered the dreams of elves to inspire and give hope.

the Flame of Anor is not the ring of fire. the ring does not posess that amount of power at all like the sun. :) The sindarin translation of Anor is the sun, so he wields the power of the sun.

I’m in the camp that believes that Sauron did not need the ring to deceive the Numenoreons. I think he left it in Mordor. Great video. We’ll done.

i don't think rings of power is all bad! ok they are not keeping to the lore with how the rings were made and how they work but i'm enjoying it! series two has been much better, apart from Elrond and Galadriel kissed the last episode which i hope does not turn out to be a romance then i will stop watching! netflix's witcher was much worse!

Yeah, the series is pretty entertaining while it rapes the lore. I think the kiss part was just to give her that lockpick or whatever it was.

He was as he said, “ look to my coming at first light”. This is when the sunlight would be on his back making it hard for the defense to see. Also, orcs hate sunlight and don’t see well in it anyways. Gandalf’s force was smaller than the tired defenders and needed this sunlight to give them a huge advantage

I tend to think it was corruption which Olorin/Gandalf feared. That corruption which had come from Melkor, twisted Mairon into Sauron and of which the latter was, by then, the greatest source in Middle Earth. Perhaps it was a dim forseeing of the fate of Saruman and a concern he, too, might fall.

I'm just waiting for rings of bezos to have there own version that are Galadriel and that awful singing dwarf woman. But each statue would be holding an unrolled scroll, onto which is inscribed the ancient declaration of girlbossdom.

I'm calling it before I watch the whole vid. Basically have you ever been presented with a fight that you KNOW will absolutely wreck you!! You believe in the win but you know the win will be soooo painful and the recovery soooo long you simply NOPE out!! I don't need the drama, the damage and shelob ain't a thing really to me!? I mean we keep our distance and there is respect so why trade a good situation for a bad one!? Now I will watch the video.

I think the odds of H.P.L. and Tolkien both inventing these horrors of the dark and them having so many similarities has got to be much smaller than Tolkien getting the idea from some of H.P.L.'s writing. Especially since Tolkien refused to describe them much at all. Probably didn't want to clue readers in to their H.P.L. origin. After all, if you were a great artistic master and borrowed an idea from the work of another master, would you want that to be obvious? Doubtful. I prefer to believe that Tolkien and H.P.L. probably had a benevolent influence on each other in the same way as Tolkien and C.S. Lewis had. Makes more sense to me than this being an incredibly bizarre mystery.
