I don't know about backs but I do know that my rotator cuff was torn. I had a stem cell/PRP injection and my shoulder has never felt better and there is no longer a visible tear. I would absolutely try it on a disc if need be without hesitation.

Here's what I posted in another TBI video minutes ago - Sixteen weeks ago (tomorrow), Dr. Blumenthal and his team at Texas Back Institute/Center for Disc Replacement, in Plano Texas, surgically implanted a Pro Disc C Vivo artificial disc between my C5 and C6 vertebrae. This after my home area (Tennessee) neck surgeon, told me, "The only thing I can do to help you is to fuse three levels on your neck." I would have commented sooner, except for the first time in years, I'm out doing everything that I want to do. Basically, everything that Dr. B discusses in this video, is how my experiences have gone. 100% positive! I couldn't be happier with the results! The pain is completely gone. I had mild discomfort for a few days about a week after surgery, that Tylenol took care of. The numbness in my fingers (both hands) is almost gone, and my ability to do fine motor-skill functions has mostly returned. My use of NSAIDs now is basically zero. Prior to surgery, I ate them like M&M's. The bottom line is that I have nothing but praise for the entire team at TBI! From the janitor, that I spoke with, while walking off the anesthesia that day, to Jessica, Jessie, Katie, and everybody else including Dr. B himself, the entire team is top notch!

Absolutely an amazing presentation. I'm just a patient that has back surgery (not by Texas Back Institute) and learned a lot about future spine surgeries from this. Who knows, maybe someday, I will be able to take advantage of some of these technologies coming down the pike.

Dr. Derman! Is one of the best back & spin doctors I believe in the world! I highly recommend him! Thank you for helping me regain the quality of my back. It’s been almost 3yrs since my minimum invasive back surgery! The surgery was successful and the team was amazing! I have no limitations or restrictions from the surgery. I’m so grateful and thankful for this doctor who treated me with care and dignity I wasn’t just a number to him and his team, but human that was treated with kindness and respect above all CARE. My experience cannot be rated on a scale its beyond 💯xs. BEST DOC🥇🏆🏅 forever grateful!

I recently saved my mom at 2:30 am called 911 this happened to her, she had the same thing happen. Today my mom got out of icu. Now she has to get the AVM removed and part of her skull put back. She has to first recover for a good month or so before any type of surgery. I’m happy you are ok.

i went to a pain management doctor and he saw my mri and he said that my disc rip which means i don't have a bulging disc instead i have herniated disc. I asked him if the epidural injection only takes the pain away and he told me yes but that it also helps the disc shrink in size which means that it won't be touching the nerve anymore adnd said that it also helps repaid the disc. Is this true in all cases or just for some people? I am in severe pain all day even with strong pain medication!!

This is not an accurate timeline. I’m 19 years old and in very good athletic shape. I had a 2 level disc replacement and I’m not able to even light jog for 3 months. As well as taking the bending lifting and twisting very lightly for the first 6 weeks. Full recovery is 6 to 9 months for this procedure

Why not go in with a bigger cut . Cosmetics would be the least of my worries . I would be quite happy with a foot long cut . Is there a reason for such a tiny hole
@TexasBack
@TexasBack Ай бұрын
Hi @Interdiction, good question, while cosmetics is a factor, a smaller incision and surgical area reduces the time under anesthesia, recovery time, blood loss, and overall trauma to the skin and muscles. While our physicians specialize in treating the spine, overall health of the patient is important to a patient's recovery and helping them get back to the things they love to do!

I was in a wreck 2 yrs and my lumbar is fused at age 11 from scoliosis, I have had my life ruined since wreck I can’t walk/stand up straight longer than 5-8 min, my lower half of body goes completely numb the only way to describe it is if you’ve ever ran and you push yourself to where your legs feel like jello or noodles , I know I need something and the chiropractor I was sent to after wreck was a joke and actually made it worse and I don’t have insurance but I can’t live like this

They found my scoliosis at age 5 I wore multiple types of braces up until age 11 at which I then refused to wear brace my scoliosis kept on progressing obviously slowed by braces but surgery was inevitable they were hoping I could make it till 16 but I refused at 11 so my lumbar spine was fused with rods so I could grow from lower spine so considering I’m 5’8 I can’t imagine how tall I’d be. I have had 6 kids obviously without an epidural because no anesthesiologist would attempt it. But I’m 37 and just fine I do get some uncomfortableness in cold weather but I’m so used to it it doesn’t phase me

I got this at 36! If it happens young, minimal invasive surgery should be done. I did physical therapy, chiropractic treatment, stretching etc… Nothing helped. Steroid injections are for the elderly because is a band aid that eventually won’t work. I am finally seeing a surgeon. I can’t do this no more at 43. I am Living like a 80 year old.

In many cases our physicians will utilize physical therapy for spine conditions. We reccomend seeing a spine specialist to help you develop a treatment plan which may or may not include physical therapy for your particular condition.

I see that this man’s name is Jack Ziegler I would like to find out if he’s related to the founder of the original inter vertebrae disc that was founded in the Netherlands by Dr. Ziegler those spelled different. You know you don’t know, but he does not have an accent. I just found it odd looking on the website today because, I was 20 pounds too overweight to be in the trials back in 2000. That’s what made everything bad for me. I know that the Texas Institute is very good doctor. Guyer was my spine Doctor ❤💯💯💯💯

I wish they had thoracic replacement discs. I have two degenerated discs that resulted in facet joint arthritis because it took too long to discover, stupid doctors always diagnosed it as a muscle issue. I also have herniated discs in the lumbar region and would pretty much prefer this to fusion. Both sites cause nerve pinching, lots of pain and problems with my left leg ( drop foot). How long does the incision take to heal?

@squallrino6387 good morning. I saw Dr Jason Cuellar and he used JFK north hospital in Jupiter Florida. Care was amazing, staff were above and beyond angelic. My union covered the anesthesiologist, hospital rental, and cardiovascular surgeon. I paid Dr Cuellar 35k with a wire transfer. He does not accept insurance, and I'm glad I did it this way. It's Ameeica, and you get what you pay for. Dr's who take insurance would have to do like 3 of these surgeries a day to make a profit. I know I wouldn't want to be a Dr's third in a day, with my spine in his hands

I've already had one surgery to treat the herniated disk. It wasn't enough. I'm feeling better about this surgery coming up now. Thanks again.
