@@iriskeniafernandez5647 I do it as an alternative option when closing/moving/Adding a dart. Otherwise I would have to slash open the dart to make changes to it and then transfer it to a new piece of paper. I like having basic bodice with different darts, so it’s the quickest and more neat way to having that done

thank you for this tutorial. is that how to make gusset for pants as well? and why 4 inches? is it the stander?
@Bettyalamode18 күн бұрын
You’re very welcome, for pants it would be totally different. Sewn the same way by sewing the gusset in the inseam parts, but the gusset would be different length and much narrower width. I used 4 inches lines in o mine because I just guessed that’s what would give me results similar to what I’ve often seen when it comes to gusset. As for the 4x4 “ that others suggest, I am not sure, but I did see it in more than one blog post, So I mentioned it. I would say that’s the standard for adults but to me that seemed too big. So I went with my own option.

Bonjour Betty. Bonne suite.

you are so clever! thank you for sharing. I'm also not a fan of a raglan maybe because I ruined a lovely piece of fabric with a commercial raglan pattern which I've not got over yet 😢 The shape you designed looks great I can't think why there are wrinkles or whether they are supposed to be there...maybe the sleeve head needs to be taller or wider at the top where it meets the body?? as when you lifted the head sides you transferred some of the side length to the very top... mmm a mystery
@Bettyalamode18 күн бұрын
Thank you Lynda! And ouch, about wasting that fabric on the pattern, I know that feeling all too well! There’s supposed to be wrinkles when my arms are down but not that much. I think so too about the sleeve head needing to be taller, but I am leaving that pattern alone for now since I use the darted version more anyways. Maybe I’ll revisit it later and if I resolve the issue, I’ll post update.

hi Betty this is a really good tutorial, I have one question: I got a 7.5 side seam measurement but when i measure it it's off the block how do you determine your diagonal line from the front bodice? (between the armhole and the waist)
@Bettyalamode22 күн бұрын
Hi Samantha, thank you! I measured from my underarm to the waist. I measured from when I had my upper chest string on which can be seen in my measurement video. Also, what do you mean by off the block, I’m not quite sure, it will angle out especially if there’s a big difference between upper chest and full bust.

Bonjour Betty. Bravo
@BettyalamodeАй бұрын
Merci beaucoup!

Hi, thanks so much for mentioning that it's fine if the bust circle extends past the center front. I was worried that I'd have to make adjustments to my bodice 😅 I was wondering then, how would I draw the between bust contour?
@BettyalamodeАй бұрын
lol no problem, I would draw the lines to the center front of the bodice ending up with lines on either side of the bust line, thats where that particular guideline is meant to be. Whether custom or standard, you would trace from the bust point to the center front of the bodice for that one
