My favorite book so far is probably the Murderbot Diaries by Martha Wells. Yes, it’s a series, but they are pretty short. I might have mentioned this before, but I could not get through the Lovely Bones. I don’t think I’m giving anything away to say that a girl dies, cuz the book is all about her afterlife. But I just couldn’t get past her death. I don’t care what anyone says. I will never stop loving or reading JK Rowling. I just finished a re-read of the Robert Galbraith books. If you haven’t tried them, I highly recommend. And I’m currently on book six of my millionth re-read of Harry Potter, this time for the Chapter a Day fantasy challenge. I’m wayyyy ahead of schedule, but I don’t care! :-)

a favorite for this year so far is The Maid by Nita Prose. a mystery and fast pace read, couldn't put it down book I have The Women by Kristin Hannah on my tbr, just haven't gotten to yet, I have read all of her books, she is a favorite author of mine.

I enjoyed the video but did miss the fun of picking more books out of the jar to decide. I think it’s a great idea to add the new books to the jar as you acquire them. Can’t wait for the next read it or not!

I too was really disappointed in Everything Else In The Universe. I ended up DNFing it around 80 pages or so. Some of my favorites so far are Jurassic Park, Annie Bot, Force of Nature by Ann E. Burg (middle grade), and How To Keep House While Drowning.

My favorite book of 2024, so far, is The Women. But, I'm in line for a library copy of All The Colors of The Dark by Chris Whitaker and I'm really expecting to love that one. I read Behind the Beautiful Forevers some years ago and loved it. So, I hope you get to that one before the end of the year.

Like you, I can't choose. I just finished Moloka'i by Alan Brennert, which was amazing. A great historically accurate historical fiction about a leper colony on Moloka'i. It follows a girl throughout her lifetime from the late 1890s through 1970. I also loved Kindred by Octavia E. Butler. I read Funny Story last month and loved it. I hope you do as well when you get to it.

Enjoyed your content! I also am unable to choose one favorite book. My top five are Attack of the Black Rectangles by Amy Serig King. Mrs. Quinn's Rise to Fame (if you are a fan of the Great British Baking Contest), Roxy by Neal Shusterman, The Light In Hidden Places by Sharon Cameron, and The Authenticity Project by Clare Pooley. I am also a huge fan of Katherine Center and can't wait for the Rom Commers!

I'm finally reading House in the Cerulean Sea - started it this morning. I know I'm going to love it and I'm looking forward to reading the sequel! I think I'm going to go all the way back to book #1 for my favorite so far, which is As Long as the Lemon Trees Grow. I still think about that book!

So glad you lived The Frozen River! I also have a TBR jar. All books go in the jar. When I acquire new books, I create slips for those books and add them to the jar. I would become confused with two jars as to which books are in which jar, when do 'new acquisitions' become 'old acquisitions and put into the larger jar...to much to manage for me. Hope you figure out what works for you!😊

For the read it or not prompt you could always pull a book out of the jar when you get the prompt so we all know what your starting book is doing to be /it’s symbolic

@@BekahBooksandBujo pull one in the tbr video and then also pull one at the start of the Read it or not video, and then you’ve got 2 books. Or, if you get read it or not during your tbr, it doesn’t count as a book. So you end up with 6 prompts for the month not 5

Love this video, but is too short for me lol. before I know it is the last spin. oh well. I read The Duke and I, I read that after I saw the 1st Bridgerton, for I never heard of the books at the time, after I saw the show, I started the book series, before the other shows came out. Also read Just Mercy, after you read that book you should read The Sun Does Shine by Anthony Ray Hinton, it is mention in Just Mercy, a guy wrongly accused and is in jail for a long time until Bryan Stevenson takes his case. I listened to it, and it is narrated by the Anthony Ray Hinton, the guy who was wrongly accused, excellent book.

Absolutely agree! I usually prefer books over TV adaptations but this time I feel like the books are luke warm at best and seriously problematic at worst… But the show is so much fun!

I really enjoyed the first two Bridgerton books but dnf’d the third and I’m not carrying on with the others now because of it. I’m not interested in watching the show though as it’s not like the books at all from what I’ve seen in clips.
