Goodevening Wendel what will be the perfect penn fisher longcast reel for bluefish zero 3 to 5 ounce rod
@wadetakemoto45543 ай бұрын
Did you have any problems with casting hard. I read somewhere that they were having issues with birdnest or backlashes all the time no matter size of lead, line or casting power. Just bought one and did not fish with it yet.

I remember seeing those solid reels being used on the Bluff beaches in the late 60's. Well they had holes drilled out around the centre to lighten them. Bought myself a 6" KP in the 90's but never got to use it. Now I'm retired its still on my bucket list and I'm about to give it a go, so happy I found this inspirational video. I just wish that KP came up with another version or conversion kit for the reel bracket like the Australian Alvey has. [Search you tube for "Alvey Side Cast Reel" ] This allows the reel to be rotated for sideways casting. I see KP has a "Farcast Reel" with similar action but think the Alvey solution is more practical.

Hi Wendel. Can the Tomcat be paired with a 14"0 bluefish rod. Alternately can the Okuma Exipor 5500 be used.

My dear friend mentor on snake Park pier Kenny....would throw his 5inch and a quarter with sealice for edibles....as a kid really impressed on me....Generous ballie would always offer me some of his sealice👍❤️

Before those KP were available, people were using bamboo rods with hand made wooden scarborough reels usually turned on a lathe. Aussies have a slightly different take on scarborough, they are made by Alvey, much easier to cast with, the reel rotates sideways for casting.

I always fish with kp as it can handle salt. Personally, can't cast far else I get bush. You get big fish on that... burn your fingers. 😂😂😂 some guys can throw it further then any other real. That's inspiring.

Hi are u using running sinker or 3 way fixed swivel which is best
@wendelmoodley Жыл бұрын
Fixed swivel. I prefer this method when targeting shad. Although, there are times when shad prefer drift bait. You just have to play around with your technique and see what works. Also, you can never go wrong with fresh Jap Mak.

Hook size: no 5 mustad. Sinker: 3oz bottleneck. I did a video last year titled "This Trace Catches Fish". Check that out.
