Are a person's feelings and desires predetermined As with migrating birds? Is the warmth in our lives rationed and dealt out As are the sunny days of the year? Are the life values of the past forgotten and blocked out Just as the infant's first inklings? Are connection and relation decided and demonstrated Just as the weather after Suvvi Ijat? (This is from the cd cover. It also says that Suvvi Ijat are some nights in April that in Sami tradition were used for predicting the future weather.)
@kaisanuoliojaevl10785 жыл бұрын
If it looks like Hungarian, that makes sence since the languages are related: Hungarian and the Sami language. And Finnish which is my mother tongue. Not that I can understand anything spoken in those other two. :)

@@kaisanuoliojaevl1078 I understand thanks to the answer,you live in a beautiful country and our country is beautiful, it has mountains, forests but our nature is destroyed.....I wanted to go out to a few months a year in a Scandinavian country to see the tundra walking with my dog there,but because of the political situation I could not,I have an unexplained attraction to the areas of the N. tundra, arctic areas and the Sami culture,and etical samanism,and sami joik has something that heals the soul gives power.....

This is Glosolalia, "speaking in tongues", an improvisative, meaningless language. In Ancient Christian liturgic practice, it was regular when the chanting leader reached an ecstatic state of mind that he started to sing in an improvisative language. That was called Glosolalia first. In modern times, neo-classical ethereal wave bands utilise this practice if their aim is to form an emotional category, without prescribing anything to the audience by words with sense. Their song titles can be in senseful languages, but in this very case, the title points at the source of inspiration.

I've been collecting different versions of this song, and it always sounds better when women sing ,it after all it is about a female mountain troll ,right !!!
@pyrointeam6 жыл бұрын
Me too. I recommend searching the title of its first appearance 1877 "Bergatrollets Frieri " you will find many more versions. If you not already knew.
@SirielleArt28 күн бұрын
Or a female witch, since "troll" refers to magic, witchcraft, too. For example, Gandalf is called by an orc "trollman" in Norwegian subtitles to the Hobbit. (Both languages have the same meaning of this word.) I don't remember where I've stepped on this interpretation of the song, but anyway, a troll or a which, she was a woman.

. IRFAN is a BULGARIAN world music & neoclassical darkwave band. . The name of the band is borrowed from the Sufi terminology and can be translated from Persian and Arabic as “gnosis”, “mystic knowledge” or “revelation” (see Irfan). Indeed Irfan's music is a world fusion and it is strongly influenced by the sacred and folk music traditions of Bulgaria, the Balkans, Persia, Caucasus, the Middle East and North Africa, as well as by the musical and spiritual heritage of Byzantium and Medieval Europe, yet it retains its own original sound. The musicians use traditional (Bulgarian, Balkan, Oriental, Persian, Indian) and medieval European instruments and vocal techniques woven into a delicate electronic dark ambient sound.
