I wasn’t aware this one ever had a club lounge. Even if they did it would still be an extra charge so might as well just enjoy the restaurants.

Is the resort family friendly? Any insights you can share about kids activities, welcome gifts or food menu?

I would say overall it’s not that kid friendly. The St. Regis nearby is more so as they have a kid play area by the pool. It’s more geared for adults here I’d say. I’d recommend calling the property and asking about the other questions you have as if it’s not in the video I don’t have the food menue. In our room they had 3 small pastries I guess you could call a welcome gift.

Is it terrace tree villa or forest edge villa? There is no treehouse villa at alila ubud

Now that I look it up it’s the forrest edge villa. When we were there the staff referred to these as the treehouse villas.

In my opinion the rooms there look dated especially with just all carpet. It’s also much older. What do you like better about the Crown Tower?

😂 We took our time to enjoy the moment, it also was expensive so wanted to get our moneys worth. I’m sure you could do it in 90 minutes if you wanted to.

i'm based in Singapore but i have to say this is the worst ritz carlton i have ever stayed among the 10+ ritz i visited. - Service wise, no ack on titanium status at all during checkin, no upgrade. No welcome card or amenity either. - Room wise, its' so old. lots of wears and tears. The sound proof was extremely bad and I got waken up a few times during the night by the noises from the corridor. When i passed by a room in the corridor, i can ever hear someone touching a plastic bag in that room. The bed linene was not ritz, or even normal marriott standard. Very uncomfortable and rough. - Food wise, the coffee latte art served in the lobby bar was a disaster weird round-like shape. i was almost laughing when i saw that being served. the breakfast seating was extremely crowded and compact. given its price, i believe it should have done a better job. sadly, such a shame.

I’m so sorry to hear that you had such a bad experience. I know they currently are planning for a renovation. Hopefully afterwards and if they refine the service you can give it another chance.

I was just there end of May! I would call them to ask, but if someone had not have told me I would not have even known they were renovating parts. Mostly the breakfast restaurant but having breakfast at pool bar was spectacular!

Awesome! Let me how your stay is 😄! You can book a standard room on points on the Marriott website with Marriott Bonvoy points. Around 100,000 per night depending on time of year. They upgraded us based on availability to this villa with our elite status.

That will definitely be helpful, depending on their occupancy I say you have a pretty good chance! But the suites are also huge and they offer great views of the resort from balconies. So if you get one of those I don’t think you will be disappointed.

It totally is a shame! They need more staff overall and they should all be trained to provide the highest level of service possible. Even with a lot of rooms, if you have enough staffing with kind attitudes service can be great.

After staying at both, I would much rather be a repeat guest at Mandapa. It’s such a unique experience and service here was leaps and bounds above BVLGARI Bali. It was perfect in every way 🤩

I didn’t get to see the suites but heard they were also amazing so I’m happy to hear you enjoyed your time:) I stayed at JW Masai Mara in February and will probably have the review edited in 2 months or so. It’s hotel 8 now on my list to edit. I pushed these Bali videos up to get them out quicker. But that JW along with the JW Marriott Jeju I was just at in June are both the best ones in the world along with JW Nara.

The Ritz was a little on the older side and the reviews were not that great. So we picked the other ones. Hyatt Regency was honestly our favorite.

In Bangkok it will be the new Ritz Carlton that will open hopefully by end of the year. Otherwise worldwide there are so many my favorite probably is Ritz Carlton Xi’an. As that was the first Ritz I had ever been to and forever changed my perspective on what a hotel could be.
