This is absolutely true. The small shelters are called upon to house, transport, vet and care for the animals picked up in raids. They are the worker bees who really take care of these abused animals until the HSUS takes over and rehomes the animals themselves. Shelters may get reimbursed for the vet care they pay for, but the HSUS get all the other donations for their own pocket which pays for the HSUS' large salaries and other business expenses. If you want your money to really go to help animals in need, please donate to your local private shelters.

So much misinformation here. Nice try to make our country's horrible meat farming practices seem humane. The pigs go into individual stalls because they are poorly socialized. The pigs are depressed and have lost their minds. There is no way you can try to flip these practices around and make it seem as if the pigs are happy about thier circumstance and can't wait to be butchered and eaten. There are other, better practices, none of which involve an industrial meat system housing and growing animals by the thousands and hundreds of thousands and millions. This add is total propaganda.

My only hope one day is this will end sooner than later. I remember living in Virginia for 3 months and we live downwind of a pig farm. It smelled horrible and it was about a mile away. I wanted to go there and say hello to the pics of course I was a kid and thought that I could. I just remembered the whole thought of it even as a young teenager really bothered me that they were trapped in there and that they were going to be used as food. The whole thing just made me feel horrible. Not to mention the smell was ghastly on some days.

So stupid to try to think the people are stupid enough to believe animals want to be in a little freaking crate.
