I believe the following six (6) steps will do the trick for a default instance of SQL Server 2022: 1) Drop any Linked Servers on the instance 2) Stop any SQL related services running on the host (SQL Server Service, SQL Server Job Agent Service, etc.) 3) Go to Control Panel --> System and Security --> System and next to the “To rename this computer or change its domain or workgroup, click Change” select Change and replace the Computer Name with <NewHostName> and select OK. 4) Reboot the host 5) Assuming you have SQL Service service configured to start automatically, run the following script to update the SQL Server meta data: SP_DROPSERVER N'OldHostName' -- Must use single quotes SP_ADDSERVER NewHostName, local --No single quotes 6) Restart all SQL Server services 7) Confirm that the following two (2) queries return the same results: /* The ServerName property automatically reports changes in the network name of the computer */ SELECT serverproperty('ServerName') /* In contrast, @@SERVERNAME does not report such changes. @@SERVERNAME reports changes made to the local server name using the sp_addserver or sp_dropserver stored procedure. */ SELECT @@SERVERNAME

Wait a second this is useless for trying to copy files from Android device to Windows because in my case, the source file path doesn't even have the legible format i.e. a Driver Letter (e.g. D: ) so the file is not found... I don't know what to do to preserve the creation date when I copy the files to Windows!! 😭 8:45pm 26.7.2024

I didn't find my host name Ssh (....)@ip I am unable to find (..) this host name.

What I couldn't figure out yet is what could have caused this. This service is supposed to be running all the time right? What could cause this permanent stop, a virus? By the way one other side effect I was having was office. Any app is just giving error while opening and then closes. I tried repair it or clean install and gives error at the end. Still install the app but they continue to give error and close. Not sure if it is related to whatever happen to my PC since I don't use office that much on this computer.

i hade the same issue because of MiniTool Partition Wizard 12, in my cause, im trying to only delete the .exe file, and save the folder, because i use this software sometimes, atm, all is okey, the .exe file didnt respawned

After installing Windows Server 2016, the machine stops on the command line after restarting Administrator:c\windows\system32\cmd.exe

Thanks a lot for this great and simple fix!, after upgrading home to Pro with a new key did the mistake to enroll OS in a Windows insider program and since then laptop was unstable and with constant issues. Now I can start working again with confidence with a fresh W11.
