probably one of the best demos of the Nord Wave 2 I have seen on KZbin... others seem to make it sound like a €99 Casio keyboard...

What did you do for the crawl? Did you use a transform effect? And how did you make the fonts different in the crawl like with the Episode number and the Subtitle?
@OctaveRange9 ай бұрын
Hi, the crawl text is made up from five separate Text+ clips that are all the same length (to keep the crawl speed the same) but each is started a bit delayed from the one before it (It looks like steps on the timeline, later clips above the ones before). The five clips are made up of "Episode IV", "A NEW HOPE" then each of the three paragaphs of text, that way each section can have it's own font, size and justification settings etc. Yes, the transform settings were used to set Pitch & Yaw, Position, Zoom etc. to put them in the right place on screen - But each of the five clips use the same settings for Transform. Once the timing, spacing and font size etc. was correct for each Text+ Clip they were combined into one Compound Clip so that the whole crawl could be sped up as it continues upscreen - Interestingly it's not a constant speed for the whole length of the crawl, it then fades as it disappears into the distance. Hope that helps a bit... :-)

What is the screen you show in the Pressure Seq AT? I'm curious how you did that sound :) I'm not a NW2 specialist yet, just sorting the patches and samples of the previous owners.
@OctaveRange10 ай бұрын
The screen is an enlargement of the centre screen on the Wave 2 (Just to the left of the part sliders, roughly above middle C on the keyboard), it's just there to show how Aftertouch is affecting the waveform shape on that sound as it's played. Hope that helps and you're enjoying getting to know your Wave 2 :-)

It's helping me :) I really love the Nord Wave 2 and it's really full of possibilities! The 1GB memory is a bit short I think, but the Sound Manager software really helps. Thank you!@@OctaveRange

Synth sounds great. I could use a lot of these sounds in commercials that's for sure.

If only it had better patch organisation and seamless sound switching , Nord wave 3 ?
@OctaveRange11 ай бұрын
Agreed, seamless patch switching would be so good, especially with the excellent effects the Wave 2 has (Cathedral Reverb etc.).

Nice. What fonts did you use?
@OctaveRange Жыл бұрын
Thanks, the "A long time ago..." font is AppleSDGothicNeoRegular and the main crawl text is Franklin Gothic Demi. They were the closest I could find to what was used on the original crawl - which I understand was Trade Gothic Bold and News Gothic Bold respectively.

It's the time of analogue synths ... only the Nord Wave 2 is digital 😉
@OctaveRange Жыл бұрын
A digital synth that does virtual analog synthesis at a time when real analogue synths are very much in fashion and making a strong comeback. I was aiming for amusing with the Star Wars Crawl Parody rather than factual accuracy... 😎

I`m a comedian, and I never make fun of handicapped people. The only reason, this bit worked, is because Stephen Hawking himself, was in it. It`s just so beautiful, that a man, trapped in his own body, still contained " Self Irony ", despite being the victim, of one of the most horrible afflictions, that can befall a Human Being. The World could learn a lot from Stephen Hawking...........now more that ever.............. R.I.P....Mate........

There’s a great story of when Professor Hawkings was on Star Trek (as himself). When they were giving him a tour of the set and got to the warp core, he said: “I’m working on one of those”.
