The changes made to her boss fight: - While running, she can swing her axe to hit Megaman and deflect bullets. - Pebbles are no longer destructible. - Falling leaves fall faster and have a wider oscillation. Edit: I also made the "room shake" effect more noticeable.

Lumber Joe attacks too fast, making it annoying to deal with, i suggest making it throw his axe 3 times before stopping until he is ready to attack again.

Yep, I can do that. I'll also play around with making his "unshielded" frame last a bit longer. Right now, each animation frame, including his "unshielded" frame, is 0.1 seconds.

I'm planning to work with an artist (most likely through commission) to develop an intro. I'm thinking there's going to be a non-narrated intro when the game first loads, and then an additional cutscene when a new game is started.

I'm working on the game in my spare time. Got work and other things going on in life. That being said, I have no idea. I'll keep working on it until I get bored or I can't anymore. I imagine given another year (or less) I can get a fully playable alpha out there.

It's been almost a full year since the first upload I made of this game. It's crazy to think how much has changed with this game (and my life in general) in less than a year. This doesn't even look like the same game I'm making now. First off, there's the big elephant in the room, and that's the graphics in this video. Like come on, how did I not notice over a year ago that the Megaman and enemy sprites are so incorrectly proportioned to the tiles? It looks like mini-Mario playing here lol. And don't even get me started on that wanky interpolated camera movement YUCK. I've gotten a lot of criticism and also a lot of help from the community in this past year. Special shout out to Samuel, Vinny, and AzureVent for giving their contributions to this game! Without all this help, I wouldn't have gotten as far as I have with making the game. I'm hoping that by January 2026, I can look back on the recordings I've made recently and think, "Wow, how the hell did I think THAT was a good game? What I have now is SOOOOO much better." Cheers!

@@ChrisRider98 Reusing Magma Man's tileset was a major barrier to being able to come up with good level design. I find that a lot of my ideas for each level are based on the tileset, which is why I ended up commissioning an artist to really bring my ideas to life.

1:30 Again. It shouldn't use the splash sound effect. Replace it with MM5's explosion sound. As for the stage itself. This is a whole lot better than the old one. i could suggest adding a silhouette of Mega Man's sprite whenever the smoke is obscuring the view.

@@retropixel1272I'll address the SFX ASAP. I replaced the sound effect already in Moon Man's stage but forgot to do it here too. Glad to hear that you think this stage is better. I'm working hard to get better at level design. I'll think about thr silhouette idea. It's require me learning how to work with shaders so that'll be interesting.

Shout out to Samuel for the amazing sprite sheet for Timber Woman! He did an excellent job of translating my ideas into reality here! This video showcases the first draft of the boss fight for Timber Woman. Some of the animations are missing. Also, there are some improvements and balancing issues I'm working on at the moment. For example, in the version shown here, the pebbles and falling leaves deflect Megaman's bullets, but in the updated version I'm working on, the leaves and pebbles can be destroyed by Megaman. I'm tweaking other values too to improve the fight. Let me know what y'all think!

Which sound effects are hard to hear? Admittedly, the sound effects could use a good re-mixing. I adjusted the volumes manually in Audacity so I don't doubt I messed up a few.

Looking at the New Mugshots for Timber, Moon, Inferno, and Rodent. This is a step towards improvent. But there's one exception. Precious. Like come on, he should have a new and improved Mugshot like the others. Plus if there's ever gonna be a wily fortress. You can work on the map screen before you finish with the RMs Plus for Precious Man. He needs a rename. I suggest going for Spinel Man since i'm outright looking for names with Pink Gemstones. And for Mega Man's idle. This needs to be fixed since it looked ugly. The sniper joes just looked really ugly and needs a newer sprite, and i really don't get the seal crying. Just let him jump even without his ball. And for the mega buster. Most Mega Man games have normal and charged shots phase through walls. Also why didn't the screen fade after a stage is selected or when Mega man loses a life?

The mugshot for Precious Man is the same one I drew a year or two back. It's basically a copy of Chill Man's mugshot with a pallette change and minor tweaks. The mugshot isn't going to stay. It's uncertain yet if Precious Man is going to be replaced with an entirely new Robot master. What's wrong with Megaman's idle? Can you be more specific? The Sniper Joe sprites are ripped from Megaman 2. Here, a simple color change was applied and nothing more. I'm considering replacing his sprite, probably with one from the community. The mega buster not going through walls is on purpose. It's inspired by Megaman X5. I know that's a controversial decision, but it's one I want to keep. The screen didn't fade because I haven't implemented it yet. This game is still in alpha and so it has a lot of rough edges that need to be finished.

I'm not an artist and so I have to rely on community works. I've had an artist help me out for free in his spare time, but it's looking like I'm gonna need to turn to something like Fiverr to get things really rolling.

I felt that adding wall jumping and air dashing would make it feel unique compared to other 8-bit fan games. The movement is faster and IMO a bit "tighter" than the classic games. Meanwhile, I'm wanting the level design to be closer to the feel of the classic games. Basically, a combination of classic and X gameplay.

@@Megaman-2407 As of right now, the abilities will just be introduced as enhancements that Dr. Light has added to Megaman. The implication is that the story takes place later in Megaman's timeline and is a bit of a precursor to X's development, i.e. Dr. Light has started working on the features that are fully realized in X. The story will take a tone that's slightly darker than the norm for the classic games which will further emphasize the "transitional" phase from the classic timeline to the development of X's. That's about as well as I can explain it for now. Up until now, I've been focusing mostly on just the gameplay. The story is very much a work-in-progress.

I have some criticisms about the plot. Why was Mega Man framed and accused? Why are the Robots and Humans trusting wily? Why is the Ending so downer?! For starter. Give the ending a much lighter tone. Where Mega Man's name is cleared and Dr. Light freed from custody. a Cutscene after defeating the 8 RMs where Auto hijacks the signal and exposes the truth about Wily that he is evil, in which the authorities, humans, and robots would begin to realize that Mega Man and the others are actually innocent and was tricked by Dr. Wily to turn against the blue bomber. In which as a result. would begin to turn against the mad doctor himself.

Those are good points about the story. Originally, I wanted to be ambitious and create a darker-toned story that would be a sort of hybrid between the classic games and X games. But as time passes by, I'm more and more inclined to go with the lighter and "easier" story. I like your idea that Megaman's name should be cleared and Dr. Light be freed in the end. That seems much more like what an official classic Megaman game would do with the story. In regards to why Megaman is accused, I think that part of the story needs a bit more fleshing out. It kinda comes out of the blue in the current draft, and you have to assume that the humans and robots aren't really good at critical thinking, which is a bit of a stretch. Same goes for why the robots and humans trust Wily. I'm all for rethinking the story and making it better written.

Then again. That needs to be averted as state. Auto would have an moment of awesome where he would outright expose Wily to everyone believing that he was responsible for making Mavericks and has tricked everyone into believing Mega Man is a Bad Guy. Which would led everyone to realize that Mega Man was innocent and Wily was behind this mess. Finally causing the humans and robots to Turn against him.

The fight with Moon Man took the most attempts out of all of them. If might look easy in the video, but dodging his attacks in slow motion is actually very difficult. There's a few moments where I barely dodged those spinning crescent moons by barely a pixel or two.
